Biggest Video Game Regrets

Girls Can't Wrestle
Looking back I can't believe how stupid I was getting rid of my Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast stuff. I would love to have it all back but getting it back would cost a lot. I ended trading all that Sega goodness in for credit at a game shop for newer systems. I didn't even get much for it all either.

I should have bought an Xbox instead of GameCube in November 2001 (provided there was sufficient supply obviously). I enjoyed my GameCube but really did not get enough use out of it compared to the Xbox I bought a year and a half later.

Not buying the FF VII black and green label games in the bargain bin at a store for $25 but at the time too I was just a *** with only allowance so it seemed pretty high compared to other things I could have gotten. But damn... there were many more games too in the bin that be worth a nice penny but that one always sticks out because there was more of FF VII then anything. All wrapped and brand new. I also wish I picked Einhander up for $30 when I saw it at a Best Buy "discount" section.

So stupid looking back but understandable

Similar for me. I remember looking and considering Castlevania Symphony of the Night when it was 10 bucks and being too cheap to go for it. Lucky for me, they had it digital a couple months ago on PS4 so I made sure I didn't miss my chance again to play it.

Also, my copy of Final Fantasy 3 (US) was stolen by a friend back in the day when it was new and I really shoulda took it back. I dunno, I felt sorry for the [NOBABE]***[/NOBABE] in a way. The dirty bastard.

While I had some games I would liked to have bought, as well as some extra controllers (I did NOT think I would go through that many official PS3 DualShocks), there's also the opposite.
As in, buying games because they were cheap, and now they're so outdated they're not worth playing, or outright unplayable. As I *** I found some PC games that were pretty cheap, but I didn't get around to playing them and now they don't mesh well with 64Bit Windows. I mean, being pretty cheap it's not a huge loss, but on a **** allowance there would have been lots of stuff I could have spent that money on that would have been more fun, or maybe even worth more today.

Buyíng the Playstation VR glasses. I have no space in my room to really enjoy it and there are not enough games to play with.

If we're talking about FFVI, I would have hunted them down. And if he touched my savefile, god have mercy on his soul.

i think i may have a few but i'll keep it short ( no particular order)
1.buying fallout 76 & not returning that wet bag of **** within a few days
2. agree with Dino Velvet - never should have gotten rid of my old systems (dreamcast as well as my genesis & my N64 with japanese converter for wrestling games) i still have my PS2,PS3, OG Xbox & X360
3. not a regret but a lesson learned - never buy a system when it first comes out. my original bought xbox ( black one ) never worked it repeatedly had issues reading discs. i think i traded it in or may have brought it back to the Wiz where i bought it ( old electronics store back in the day) and explained it was a lemon. i can't really remember if they gave me full refund or what. it was so long ago = 2001! i was really pissed off because i really wanted to play the Star Wars KOTOR game and couldn't. never again - i wait months now even longer ( bought my PS4 1 year after release ) because i have this "never trust the game systems". i am sure the newer systems are good on release day but i'll never take the chance again.

Selling all my PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4 console and games about 3 years ago. I had a HUGE selection of games. I had close to 300 games combined and I sold them all on Craigslist and GameStop. About 75% of those games I didn't even get to play. I was working a lot of hours back then and I didn't have time for video games. They were just piling up and I should have kept them all. I don't know what I was thinking back then. I probably spent $5,000.00 on all those games and consoles. I got back 2,500.00 which is half of it, maybe even less.

Nothing THAT big of regret. I just would love to be able to play "Age of Mythology" again, on computer. Sadly, it won't run on Windows 10

Maybe I need to get an old computer with Windows xp?

Similar to Supafly, my biggest regret isn't not keeping a game, it's not keeping an older computer around that would allow me to play the old Mechwarrior 2 disk. I don't know if they have gotten a way to make them work with a version of windows that has come out in a decade, and as far as I know there has never been an updated release, and even the moded patches and workarounds gamers have come up with in the meantime tend to be sketchy in performance if they can even work for you at all.

I will admit the games don't hold up very well in graphics, but since I wasn't as big a fan of Mechwarrior 3 or 4 I would have to go back to Mechwarrior 2.

I have a similar issue with the original Sims game. Although maybe it was popular enough there are some effective workarounds for newer operating systems people have come up with. The original Sims might also be one of the last games EA put out back when they were an actual good video game developer that people still liked.

This is why I always kept my 2008 laptop offline and strictly for storage and games. Where I write my stories, store pics and play couple games or my emulstors from NES/SNES

forgot to say that about 6 months after getting rid of that original xbox, i went to buy another because i really really wanted to play KOTOR. the one i bought worked perfectly fine & i still have it
