Early life[edit]
Originally from Medford, Massachusetts, the rapper graduated Medford High School.[4] She is of Puerto Rican descent.[5][6] According to an interview with Oxygen's website, she spoke about wanting to become a rapper at a young age; after surviving a nearly fatal motorcycle accident, she decided to seriously pursue a career in rap/hip-hop.[7] The accident was in fact a result of drunk driver who crashed into Landrau and a group of friends in 2013.[8] The rapper stated " When I was young in Boston, probably like 14, I used to hang with a bunch of rappers in the studio. They're famous battle rappers now. Back then, they were coming up. They used to be in the studio. I used to hit the 'record' button for them all the time. I was writing but I didn't tell anybody"

Career[edit]
She was initially discovered by her current manager, rapper Fam-Lay through YouTube[9] and later introduced to Pharrell. She is currently signed to the i Am Other music label as part of a collaboration with RCA Records. She has worked with the likes of rapper T.I as well as singers Jennifer Hudson and Usher. In late 2014, she released a mixtape entitled #CHOLASEASON. She takes influences from American rapper Jay-Z, Puerto Rican singer Ivy Queen and Selena.[10]

In an interview with radio station Hot 97's morning show Ebro in the Morning in September 2015, she revealed that she will not be back for season 3 of Sisterhood of Hip Hop.[6]

She is featured in J Balvin's song "Safari", released as a single in May 2016.

Most recently, Bia has performed at A3C, Art Basel, Revolt Music Festival, SXSW and Pusha-T's Darkest Before the Dawn Tour.

As the main support act on the North American leg of Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman Tour, Little Mix, were absent for some dates on, Bia took their place for those gigs.[11] Bia, alongside Victoria Monét, was the main support acts of the European leg of the tour.

She was featured on the track "Miami" from Kali Uchis' debut album Isolation, which was released on April 6, 2018.

Her latest collaboration with rapper and singer Russ on the single "Best on Earth" mentioned pop icon Rihanna in the lyrics, which garnered her attention.[12] The 13 time American Music Awards winner posted a short video with the song playing in the background on her Instagram page with the caption, "Thank you Bia and Russ for my new fav song "Best on Earth." The post gained over 19,000,000 views.[13]
