Yeah I'd probably have to say either Robert Plant or Jim Morrison are the best ever, maybe Van Zant. It's all subjective this question tho'. I fucking love Chris Cornell and Axl Rose as well as many others. :2 cents:

A lot of people think Dennis DeYoung has a great voice, good range, hits every note. But that ain't rock and roll to me. Rock and roll is attitude, swagger and energy and it isn't perfect or pretty. Mick Jagger is the frontman of rock music... although he will tell you he borrowed heavily from James Brown.
I can understand that Mick Jagger isn't a lot of people's cup of tea, but he virtually invented the prototype for rock frontmen... and contributed some incredible songs along the way.

I'm not talking about his 80's crap, I'm talking about the Faces and all his solo work up to and including "Atlantic Crossing."
