With summer coming back the music festival season will soon begin, so, which is the best Metal Festival ?

Out of those, the Download Festival seems the most appealing to me, although I'm not a huuuge metal fan so what do I know.

As far as summer festivals go, Lollapalooza has a pretty sic lineup this year. It's only $250 bucks for a 3 day pass and I'm really contemplating heading down to Chicago for a good time. Anybody care to join me?

I've been to Download a couple times, last time was 05' so it has been a while, but it was always great. Although I have noticed that over the past couple of years they do seem to be scaling down on the shall we say "harder" metal bands for what seem like reunion tours (Kiss etc). But the smaller stages were always better anyway.

Also, if you don't get laid at Download at least once that entire weekend . . . you fail. You fail hard!

Really? Warped Tour is a joke now. They haven't had a solid lineup since 2001, not to mention the commercialism and high concession prices they were supposed to be against. I thought it was a punk tour? Not a day long advertisement for Hot Topic. Where's the punk bands anyway??

And then to keep any credibility they think they still have, they book Bad Religion or Pennywise or something and throw them on a side stage while some poseur fag band gets the main stage at a prime time slot. :1orglaugh

I like the smaller festivals with less known bands. If I want to see the big bands I'll wait for their normal shows!

Wacken used to be great, just like Dynamo, in the days but has grown so big, it just isn't fun anymore. Same for Graspop: killer line-up with the biggest bands, but standing in line for 4 to 6 hours, just to get coins so you can get in line again to get a drink... madness.
