If you don't want warez, don't run MS IE

Many thanks Prof, always fearful of a virus (or worse)!
If you're worried about spyware, viruses, etc..., don't run Internet Explorer.

Unpatched Firefox v. Unpatched MS IE 6 (to 45,000 web sites -- extensive study):

Even with MS IE's most secure settings, 0.6% of sites will still infect it.
With Firefox, absolutely none will ... ever!
It's at the core design and Vista/MS IE 7 will not fix that.

MS IE breaks the Windows operating system if things are disabled, so Microsoft leaves many "backdoors" running (yes, I'm oversimplifying for people who are not IT professionals). Firefox has never been a subsystem of the OS (again, long story).

LMAO! That is easily the best advice available. Using IE is simply asking to be infected/hijacked/wormed.
