I am a huge Maiden fan so i chose Seventh Son, i love all their stuff but that album gives me good memories of my little brother....that was one of the first cd's he bought when he got a cd player in 1988 and used to listen to it like it was going outta style.
He passed away on June 27th of this year, cancer got him at the age of 36, so the album helps me to smile a little bit thinking of him.

The Number of the Beast. Came out the year I was born, too (1982).

That's tough one. Powerslave is just a masterpiece of long and intricate song writing, with subject matter far more intellectual than the band ever got credit for. As a matter of fact, all their songwriting is incredibly deep, rich, and insightful, something I think that is lost on fans and critics alike.

But the sheer power and aggression of "The Trooper" makes Piece of Mind my favorite of all time. The first time I heard that song, as a teenager, I was absoluely blown away that music like this even existed. And I was hooked immediately.

Dance of Death is my favourite. Even with the terrible album art.

I'm partial to Somewhere In Time. :glugglug:

This is a really tough question, they had so many great albums... From start to finish, I've always loved to listen to Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son, and Beast, but they are all great.

Halo, sorry to hear that... I'm glad that they music helps you remember him fondly

I've been a fan of Maiden sinse 1990. August of that year to be exact.

I have found that from my view Maiden have gone down hill FAST on the past two albums Dance of Death and also A Matter of Life and Death. They are boring to listen to those two albums. It's as if the flame of Metal has gone out in those lads. Maybe Harris and co are getting too old to rock!. Funny thing is, I have D.O.D and A.M.O.L.A.D even though I don't like them. I have them to keep the collection complete and up to date.

I will still buy the new albums even if they are terrible to the ears. But this is only because of the affection I have for the bands past glories. Maiden was the first band I got into in the Metal scene back in 1990. And my love for the genre just grew from there I suppose. I don't listen to ANYTHING but Metal and it has been like this sinse day one!. And I don't hold very much hope that the new Maiden album, when it comes out, if it will be better than Dance of Death and also A Matter of Life And Death. It would be nice if it was better than them. But it is highly unlikely. We need some Aces High styled riffs and Caught Somewhere In Time soloing on the new album.

How I'd rate the studio albums.

1. Somewhere In Time.
2. Powerslave.
3. Peace of Mind.
4. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
5. Fear of the Dark.
6. Iron Maiden.
7. No Prayer For The Dying.
8. The Number of the Beast.
9. Killers.
10. The X Factor.
11. Virtual XI.

12. Dance of Death.
13. A Matter of Life And Death.

Here's how I'd rate the live albums:

1. Live After Death.
2. Live At Donington.
3. A Real Dead One.
4. A Real Live One.
5. Flight 666.
6. Death on the Road.
7. Rock In Rio.

I think the band has far too many live albums. One, or three, is fine. But the amount they have is a bit of a joke if we're being honest.
