X was worse than X-2, except the story ofcourse.

Of the FF games I've played (I-VI, FFTA, and FFCC), my favorite has to be FFVI. The story was amazing, the variety of characters' fighting styles was excellent...everything about it was perfect.

I played a bit of FFVII, but only made it to the Temple of the Ancients. I was borrowing the game from a friend, and the friend wanted the game back.

I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned FFXII.It had probably the most in depth story of all of the FF games plus hands down the best fighting system of all the others.Plus the characters were really original.

That said,FFVIII is still my favorite overall game(nothing beats Squall and his Gunblade) but FFX had one of the best ending I've seen for any video game.
FFXII had the character development of a muffin, and by the end of the game you rarely give commands in battle, just run up and let gambits do the work. That said, it was beautiful, the mmorpg style combat was fun (at first atleast) but around halfway through i realized there wasn't ever going to be an explanation for why Vaan was stronger than everyone else in the world and the characters werent ever going to have significant interaction, and interest started to fade*shrug* Plot and sidequests were pitifully weak in this game, a big let down from FFX which was great except fo lightning dodging:mad:

Id vote for fviii as my favorite, pretty much all the limit breaks were fun, the card game was interesting..and its the first i played =p

I dodged 197 lightning strikes and then I got hit.I was so pissed off because i was 3 away from, I think they were called legendary weapons,or something like that.FFVIII was really good and the Triple Triad card game was the best side game of all of the ones I played.I loved FFX,but Blitzball fuckin' sucked.I couldn't even find the fishing game or whatever they had in XII.

Oh well,I guess I'm one of the few who really enjoyed XII,from the design to the battle interface on down the list. The one problem is that the GF's were absolutely atrocious and completely worthless.I really don't even know why they put them in the game they were so pathethic. At least most of the limit breaks(I know that's not what they were really called) were pretty cool.

i liked VIII and IX the best. ive never played VII. and why the hell did they mak X-2?!?!?

You mean Celestial Weapons, and that's not how to get the Celestial Weapons.

There was one weapon you could get by dodging the lightning 200 times.I read that in the official strategy guide,or maybe I'm remembering it wrong and you get something else for dodging the lightning, either way you get something for completing this task.

Easy. FFVII for sure!
VIII was dissapointing, but still fun to play.
IX was pretty good again. From X onward the quality slipped downhill pretty fast.

I think its got to be FF7 that was the first a saw, all i saw was multi clolour chocobos and i wanted it there and then. the golden saucer and chocobo breeding were great distractions to the main game and were hours of fune on their own. altho i did like the deeply over complex junctioning system in FFVIII where the more magic you had drawn the stronger you got but i ended up spending hours harvesting ultima lol

when squaresoft became square enix it all went wrong. plus :bowdown:Nobuo Uematsu:bowdown: not doing the sound track made a huge difference. Those who fight further (FFVII boss battle theme) has got to be the best piece of music in a game ever

If you don't mind the low grade on the graphics, I loved Final Fantasy Tactics for the PS2. I still rate it in my list of fave games OAT. Oh yeah, Delita is one of the coolest characters ever, from peasant to King, awesome!!!

Hell yeah steveo111 you tell them !! i agree 100 % FF7 is the daddy fact !! most loved by final fantasy players.

VII is only the favourite of average gamers. Anyone who has played them all knows that VI is the best game in the series.
