Best Female fronted metal band

There's actually a real buzz for female-fronted Metal band (mostly symphonic or gothic Metal), since a few years.
I'm a big fan of these bands. Wich one do you think is the best one
(Don't tell me about Evanescence, it ain't no Metal...)

Out of those, Nightwish I guess. There are several others though (Visions of Atlantis, Lunatica, Edenbridge to name a few).

Not really a fan of female lead singers in bands, but I went for Arch Enemy because I saw them play live at Donnington a while back and her voice was the loudest of anyones.

Like them or hate 'em, there's no doubt that Evanescence have metal influences. The guitars are usually more distorted and much more prominent in the mix than bands like Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation.

The closest female-fronted bands I like to this type of music are: Kittie, Scarling and Jack Off Jill, but they're not really metal I guess.

I voted for Lacuna Coil since they are the only choice I'm familiar with.

I like all those bands but i still haven´t heard anything better than Theatre of Tragedy´s "Velvet Darkness They Fear" in this genre.

I have to agree there, but when Evanescence came out, they did remind me of an American version of Lacuna Coil.

Lacuna Coil I'd say although it was tough, never heard of Within Temptation, After Forever and Epica before I saw those vids but I loved them all especially Within Temptation!
