Best ending to a television serial?

Basically just the best ending to a show in it's last ever episode.

I really enjoyed the ending to Six Feet Under. It's a combination of the great characters, the time you invest in the series, and this song, all of which work together to sum up the show. You know what happens to all the characters, in a way in which makes sense to the whole show, and if you watch the all the seasons from start to finish, it really is an excellent scene. Great ending

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Even though the show ended way earlier than it should have... :(

My Penis Is Dancing!
I actually liked the Battlestar Galactica reboot finale.
Life On Mars, the UK version had a very nice ending. The US ending blew chunks...great series, mind you, but it completely fell apart in the last five minutes.
And I am probably one of the few who really liked the very open ending of The Sopranos.

Is somewhere outhere.
I can remember those old shows where the perfect finale ended with everybody dead :1orglaugh

They don't make them like that anymore :D

the show dinosaurs had a memorable one...

Star Trek Deep Space Nine series ending Dismounted is transformed into a spirital being and what appears to be closed story has endless possibilites

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
The one which wasn't purposefully designed as an open-ended cliff-hanger in a cynical move to boost sales.

I always liked the finale of "The Fugitive" myself.

Supposedly wrapping up the storyline cost the network/studio much money in syndication, so a lot of shows are discouraged from doing the same.

I liked the 2nd Bob Newhart show ending up back in his 1st show.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I liked the 2nd Bob Newhart show ending up back in his 1st show.

That was some very smart writing. Great show too.

Also, I liked the endings to Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, The Wire and, once I realized my satellite hadn't gone out, The Sopranos.

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
The last episode of Seinfeld ranks up there for me.
