It's not a national chain and I don't know if it still exists, but we had this doughnut shop called Spudnuts. The doughnuts were made out of potato flour and that produced THE BEST doughnuts ever.

Haven't really found anyone that does real doughnuts here yet...but who needs doughnuts when there's oliebollen, sugar waffles, and other pastries?

Tim Hortons donuts USED to be good (like 15+ years ago, back when they were bigger and fresher) but now they suck. Their boston creme is ok...but nothing to write home about.

The best donut I've ever had was a Krispy Kreme....6 years ago they were selling Krispy Kreme in select Mcdonalds in my city, to test whether the canadian public would want them here, so I grabbed one of their boston cremes and omg I jizzed right on the street. It was like sex in my mouth. But they took away the Krispy Kremes :( so now I haz none :( :( :(

They are delicious. Very delicious. If any of you visit the Portland area, pay Voodoo a visit - you won't regret it.

Here's the donut scene in the Portland area: Voodoo in the city, Krispy Kreme in the suburbs. Dunkin Donuts was around until the late 90s (one former DD not too far from me is now a sushi restaurant), and the last Winchell's in the area closed a few years back. I miss DD's chocolate filled powdered donuts (or whatever the fuck they were called).

I saw voo doo donuts on tv, they have a donut that has bacon on it, yes bacon. Theyre donuts looked top notch.

oliebollen > doughnuts.

No ****** question. 'Specially when Oma makes them for Oudejaarsavond.

Currents, apple, or raisins? I prefer currents and apple over raisins.

Dunkin Donuts and Entenmann's are great. Krispy Kreme sucks. No comment on the others because I haven't had them.

Honey Dew Donuts which is a semi local donut chain in Massachusetts, they got the best chcolate and vanila frosted filled donuts. And they have apple pie stuffed donut sticks. And mini peach pies, they do a lot of tasty seasonal stuff.

Let's face it, all donuts are delicious... the favorites are a personal preference. Though I don't eat them very often, when they are fresh it's tough to beat Krispy Kremes... they melt in your mouth! :drool2:

^ It's not capitalized. Even if you're speaking of a specific piece, like a concha or a cuernito, it's still written in lower case. :hatsoff:

Krispy Creme. Tim Horton's, Winchell's, nor Lamar's are in my area. So I guess a road trip is needed.
