Ben Stein: Obama 'Is the Most Racist President' Ever

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
David Duke hasn't been in the Klan in over thirty years.

Well yeah, but it's been more than a couple of years since Robert Byrd has been in the Klan too. Though the difference being, I don't think Byrd has continued to travel the globe and give sympathetic speeches to extremist groups.

In fact, here's a "fun" 4th of July piece that Dave put up this year.

Duke is for white advocacy.

Like the NAACP.

The NAACP is for White advocacy?

BTW, from a racial standpoint, most Jews are White... so there's also that. ;)

I didn't see any specific examples of Obama's "racism" in the thirty second clip provided. Can someone point out some specific examples or is this just more far right horseshit? Nevermind, that's all they've got.

A long time ago.

"founded the Louisiana-based"

Member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 81st district: In office 1990–1992

but you bring up things from that long ago in obamas past and think they are relevant. that seems pretty inconsistent of you

how is that a response? i think i am realizing just how much of a troll you are. i am guessing that the smart money is to ignore you. maybe someone else can verify this for me?

He's a two-time Asshat of the Year, a title he hates which makes him that much more deserving. He's too unintentionally amusing to ignore, IMO.

You barely post and have never made a thread.

Who pays you to troll?

But aside from that it was fairly interesting reading about how the large percentage of those guys were democrats.

Virtually all Southern Democrats - or in other words, in that era, the staunchest of staunch conservatives.

Even more interesting (perhaps) is that it was all but illegal (certainly very unhealthy) to be a Republican in the South after the Civil War up through the early 20th Century, yet now the Republican party dominates the South. Some suggest that the ideological poles of the parties have reversed.

They definitely have.
It's always amusing hearing the contemporary Republican Party refer to itself as the Party of Lincoln.
Ummm. No. Ideologically the two are worlds apart.

Ben Stein: ‘Self-defeating black underclass’ plagued by drugs, gangs

Ben Stein argued Monday that the “real problem” with race in America is the “pathetic, self-defeating black underclass” that’s plagued by drugs and gangs.

“You would think, if you read the liberal mainstream media, that the main problem with race in America was poor innocent black people being set upon and mistreated by the police. That’s just nonsense,” the conservative author said on Newsmax TV, Mediaite reported.

“I mean, the real problem with race in America is a very, very beaten-down, pathetic, self-defeating black underclass that just can’t seem to get its way going in the way that blacks were able to before the scourge of drugs and the scourge of gangs,” Mr. Stein said.

His comments came one week after he accused President Obama of being the most racist president in American history.

“I mean, it’s an amazing thing — blacks were on their way in this country, even after the horrors of slavery, and then drugs came in, the destruction of families came in, and the crisis in the black community is just absolutely unbelievable,” Mr. Stein told Newsmax. “And that, it seems to me, is something that Mr. Obama could have addressed, and he has ignored it completely.”

When were blacks thriving in the US ? Not before the 1964 Civil Right Act. But drugs were already there in 1964... So when were black thriving ?

When even Fox New a analyst says, on air, that what you said is racist, you're in trouble...

Not sure but I think Kirsten is Fox's token democrat?

But anyway, back to game show host Ben Stein, the world's foremost Nixon apologist .....
"He lied so he could keep his agenda of peace going"

Not sure but I think Kirsten is Fox's token democrat?

Or maybe it's Bob Beckel, Juan Williams, Alan Colmes, and a host of others. Oh and fuckin' Geraldo.

So what is to blame for the problems in the black community? Is it all racism to blame for the disproportionate unemployment rate, poverty rate, crime rate (by far), murder rate, fatherless households, etc. ? Asians rank below whites in all those categories. So is racism to blame? Or is it a cultural issue with the help of some outside forces (white liberals) who need a permanent victim class?

As with many charges against Obama by the Taliban right, you have to be able to read between (and within) the lines. While I don't agree with Obama's approach on many issues now (including race, religion and gender issues), to say that he's "the most racist President ever" suggests an air of hyperbole and a tendency to ignore the actions and beliefs of past Presidents. Me thinks that Benji should stick to talk show hosting and political speech writing.

IMO, it would take a sincere and apolitical study to determine the primary root cause(s). One of the key problems in trying to determine such a root cause, on an issue involving race, religion or gender in the U.S., is that a particular answer is desired by particular people or groups of people. If your study happened to find that racism was the primary root cause, then MSNBC would likely invite you on to talk about the study. And if you happened to find that certain cultural issues (within the Black community) were the primary root causes, then Fox would likely invite you on. That, in itself, says that we have a deeper issue within the U.S. right now.

I don't know the answer to your very legitimate question. I suspect that "all of the above" is as good as any though. But since nobody is allowed to honestly discuss the issue in a public policy setting, then I don't believe it's going to get solved anytime soon (if ever).
