Beckham himself seems to have very little love for LA, its fans or for the promotion of football in the States. Only a few months ago he was eager to sell them all down the river for a chance to play full-time in Milan.

IMO the only reason he signed for LA is to boost his already bloated bank balance, rub shoulders with celebrities and to give his Mrs a go at a fashion career.

I think the reason why a lot of them are mad is because some people bought season tickets so they could see him play, and then proceeded to take 1/2 of the season off and basically said "I'm tired of playing in the states, I want to go back to Europe." Soccer will never be popular in the states. Football, basketball, and baseball all have a devout following and those sports line up in such a way that you can follow your favorite team in one sport without having decide whether to watch one sport or the other.

Concerning the first two posts on this thread, you're just kidding, right? If not, you have absolutely no idea what the fuck you're talkin about and what this is all about.

If I were a Galaxy fan I would make sure that this prick knows he is not welcome anymore. The way he handled all of this was most disrespectful to the club and its fans. And what happened in LA is just a small tip of the iceberg of what would have happened here in Europe with such a player. Beckham is a freakin mercenary ("mercenari senza onore"), admittedly, like so many other players these days, but this asshole really took it to another level. In the end I don't give a shit because I don't care about the Galaxy, but as I said, if I were a fan I would be super pissed and at least would be calling him names all game long and make sure he knows what I think of him.

I would have loved to see him going toe to toe with this fan who almost jumped all over him, because that fag Beckham would have been driven right into the ground.
