Be Thinner, Healthier, More Productive: Go to Bed

I think part of the problem is modern society. The human body just wasn't developed to operate the way we make it now. Before you went to bed when you were tired, and you couldn't do much in the dark so sleep was one of the only things to do. Now we live in a world that never sleeps and most people have jobs there take a lot of time and resources away from them and force them to do things on somebody else’s schedule.

Good link, very interesting.

I haven't had a full nights sleep since, hell I can't remember. lol I stay there for at least 6 but sleep in spurts (no smart remarks needed) never more than 1 1/2 hours or so at a time before waking.

Hard to hear that. I probably get too much.

I only get 4 to 5 hours of sleep on a good day and I feel it too! But it's better than when I had chronic ensomnia...I would only get about 4 to 5 hours of sleep a week!

.. and the growing popularity of the internet doesn't help much either.

I never managed to get much sleep post puberty. Bit of a wild child (hey, it was the 60s!).

Got into the Army and lost tons of sleep there.

Got out of the Army, but now had kids - bye bye sleep.

Now that the kids are finally out of the house, I thought I'd be able to get some sleep - but now I'm too old and seem to need less sleep. And my chronic pain issues from burn scars and various pieces of metal still in my body seem to have increased.

I'm lucky if I sleep 6 hours a day.

I used to work shifts in a factory.
At first there wasn't much of a problem, I could sleep at anytime of the day and not feel fagged-out.
In recent years though, I began to feel lethargic and mentally uneasy, which could only be down to the odd hours I was working.
There were even occasions when I didn't get any sleep at nights and found myself going back out to work in an almost 'dazed' state, for another shift.
These days I work a different job 9-5, and I feel heaps better.

I try to get in a solid 8 hours each night, but it tends to drop down to 7 or so because I'm lousy at going to bed when I'm supposed to.
