I have to disagree with this statement

I root for my team and then the teams within the division and then the teams within the league (IF, my team is not in the thick of things). My thoughts are, if my team can't win it all then I want the teams that beat my team out, ie. divisonal rival, league rival to win it.

i understand the league pride. im all for the american league. even though they have the dh. but, i just cant watch a division rival win. i think its because im still bitter about 1997. had the indians won, i dont think i would care who wins now.

I really can't stand Joe Buck (or his ****** - Jack Buck- former Cardinal's broadcaster), though!:glugglug:

I KNOW! he's so monotonous, he probably wouldn't show any emotion even if someone wins on a walk-off HR in game 7. now, if you watched the tigers game 4 against oakland, the one guy, thom brennaman, his call of ordonez's HR was pretty good. here's the clip Premium Link Upgrade

i don't know if i'm going to be able to watch all those games with joe buck broadcasting.

That being said, I just want to see a good series. I really can't stand Joe Buck (or his ****** - Jack Buck- former Cardinal's broadcaster), though!

I can't stand him either. It makes you wonder how he even got the jobs he has had in the first place. Maybe it is because of his ***. Somebody said they were glad Joe Buck was announcing baseball games because maybe that will mean he won't have a chance to screw up any football games while he's at it. At least he is better than Joe Theismann or Joe Morgan, but that isn't saying much because everybody is better than them. Joe Buck's partner in basball games, Tim McCarver, is pretty low on the list also.

Go Tigers, not because I particularily like them, but generally I cheer for the American League teams first, once my beloved Red Sox are out of any playoff equation.

however, at times I must cheer for National League teams too.....

I **** the Tigers (and that cheater Kenny Rogers :D ), but I can't bring myself to root for the National League when their representative only won 83 games. The Cardinals sucked the whole year, along with their division. Then they play a few good series' against mediocre opponents from their inferior league in the past few weeks, and suddenly they can be the champs? What joke. Go Tigers!

bob eucker!!!

Add Vin Scully too!

Add Vin Scully too!

there was a time when i would have said vin first. but, he is getting senile. he forgets names, positions, pitches, everything. its hard to watch a dodger game now. its sad to me. i grew up on vin. its cool that he will never get fired though. there would be a boycott.

At least when Harry Caray got old people just thought he had a lot of character. :1orglaugh

There are some things that are bothering my about this series. Mostly due to the fact the state and national media is hyping this up like it's something that's going to help fix all of Michigan’s problems. Any economic impact from this would be like trying to fill an ocean with a medicine dropper. We have no jobs, our politicians suck, and in some ways the state is nearing collapse. Yet lets all dance around the campfire because we have the World Series.

Another thing that bothers me is how they show all the loyal fans in the seats with their faces painted and talk about how great and loyal they are. I wonder where all those people where when the Tigers had one of the worst records in history a few years ago.

Well, got to give them a pass, imo. Twelve straight losing seasons can do that to a fan base. I'd give up on my team as well, if they just didn't even try for over a decade.

I hear what you're saying though. I almost felt most of the year I couldn't wear my sox gear without seeming like a bandwagoner. Especially in this city with the cub-converts joining the dark side for the year. And man were they everywhere. It was ridiculous the amount of sox hats you'd see around. Damn it was annoying. On second thought, those detroit bandwagoners can burn along with all the sox bandwagoners! :thefinger

The Cardinals do not deserve to fucking win the World Series at all. They had the shittiest season and the only reason they made it to the playoffs if because everyone in their division is just that much worse. They got fucking lucky and have had a few good games in the playoffs and have also been very lucky in the playoffs. The Tigers deserve it so much more than they do. I mean come on....they had a 83-78 season.....5 GAMES ABOVE 500!! They don't deserve this **** at all. Plus most of the players on The Cardinals are assholes anyways and think they are sweet and have giant egos. Especially that fucking Yadier Molina....fuck that asshole, hes like a second year catcher and already thinks hes the ****....yeah, right. Ivan is like 4 million times better than your ugly ass. Well thats about all I have to say about the The Shitnals. Fuck Eckstein, fuck Wilson, fuck Pujols, fuck Rolen, fuck Belliard, fuck Edmonds, fuck Taguchi, fuck Miles, fuck Reyes, fuck Weaver, fuck Molina, and....fuck Carpenter and Suppan, who are the two biggest assholes on the team. Carpenter=worst Cy Young winner ever.

everybody in the nl sucked. someone had to go. if they beat detroit then oh well. in baseball the best team rarely win. its been that way for a while now. get used to it because it isnt going to change any time soon.

and carpenter was cy young today. hmmm tiger fans think the series should be handed to them?

I am rooting for the Tigers but damn, the Cardinals were better for 2 of the 3 games so far.

The Satyr Icon

2-1 the Cards. Would like to see them win as all season long the supposed experts were saying the NL was carp and whoever got to the series would get humped. You play a whole seson only to lose to a team who were poorer - so what, every team knows how it works at the start of the season and it means competition for longer during the season.

It looks like this game might be rained out. I even think there is a chance for rain if they get back to Detroit. :1orglaugh
