You're right. I'm White and live on the West Side of town. I don't see a lot of Black people but I do watch a lot of television like other people like myself do. I would truly like to see Black people better themselves but exhibitions of chosen behavior such as this set things back in the way Black people are perceived. When people lose respect, they lose concern, and just want distance from them. You can't blame people for having good television reception. Much of it is filmed in real time before the media can spin it into their political wheelhouse too. I'm sorry things are this way but they are. People have to be their own seed of change. There are way too many immigrants who come into America that are hard working, have real pride, and live quiet, dignified lives keeping their families intact and taking care of their own. The non-Whites who hustle for work on my side of town are the Browns, not the Blacks. They work in the McDonald's while the same overfed Black character holds a sign begging in front of the McDonald's. You wouldn't want me to repeat what they've told me and they are no Whiter than you.

My intention is not to be hateful but informative. A kick in the ass is better than another pat on the head. I'm not your enemy nor ever was. It's not me who you look over your shoulder for, is it?

Thanks for posting this, Ace. I mentioned "respect" before. Respect is earned, not doled out. I gained a lot of respect for Koreans after our riots and now consider them comrades in arms. Koreans have been good immigrants who improved the community they live in and have many nice things in Koreatown to be proud of. They don't take shit and you can't shame them with heartstring-pulling nonsense. I go into their neighborhood and spend my money. Great BBQ if you haven't tried it.

Everybody want's to talk about Baltimore but nobody wants to talk about the root causes of what's going on. Baltimore's population has been shrinking for years and it's one of the most deadliest cities in the U.S and combine that with income inequality and lack of opportunity in the inner cities and it's not surprising to see what's going on. It's only because of these riots that we finally discuss these important issues and that I find extremely sad.

Too easy to blame it on other people. People should be self reliant and stop finding excuses to blame their misery because of others. You want a good a salary, then make higher studies, be a good pupil, don't go with wrong crowd and build yourself a great professional network with linked in, it may help to get an interview and make the difference. The opportunity is before all a matter of luck, of preparation as well as a willingness to be the best. You don't make of a thug, a good citizen.

Totally agree. I'm sure Al resents descending to a bit player of a potential scam he could grift off and profit from. Also agree that Shepherd Smith provides a moment of sobering clarity fairly often in the midst of the propaganda. He tries to be honest and unbiased and I'm starting to worry about his job security. Ever heard of Judge Napolitano? He still accepts crumbs from the network but I really enjoyed his show when it was on.

But as far as motivation and cause, you don't stand for anything by shitting on your own floor then setting on fire the place grandma got her pills from. Business people are not going to be willing to invest their dollars and accept the risk. Since a mind is a terrible thing to waste I encourage them to use their brain.

These local community leaders are not helping either. They spend more energy deflecting blame and avoiding accountability instead of getting into the weeds and dealing with the crust of the problem. I keep hearing the word "opportunity". What does that mean? What is the plan for them to convince the business world to throw good money after bad in that community? "Opportunity" in the tone and context it is used sounds like code for "gub'ment check". Also when the Bloods, Crips, and Black Gorilla Family are seen as voices of reason then what do the other voices sound like? People praised them for protecting Black-owned businesses but failed to report their encouragement of pillaging the Asian ones.
