i went for bmw because i think they made the best all around car for many years now. as far as engines go iwill have to go w/chrysler the hemi

All of those brands qualify as "daily drivers" and since you didn't specify a budget--the best car money can buy is a Porsche 911. It is the best of everything, all things considered.
Based on your choices though--I agree with you. I'd go for a BMW over anything else.

Gotta say Mercedes Benz they beat bmws anyday. Better built and in a straight driving your merc against his bmw you always win lol

Toyota probably...all the good cars I've had are from that ******. Their cars always get average or above in Consumer Reports too. My parents had a horrible Chrysler when I was a ***...it was broken more often than not.
My wife has a mercedes and it's awesome to drive. I owned a Nissan for many years and it was bullet proof. I think Hyundai are these days making high quality cars in the low end of the price range. Both Toyota and Honda have been making good quality cars for decades and continue to do so.
"Best" is such a broad category, and as far as cars go, you can't really compare Hyundai to Audi, or Kia to BMW, different companies catering to different markets.

This is difficult to answer. Best in which way ?
I ask this, as fuel economy would be the focus of the day relative as to how consumers make their choices. Style has taken a "back seat", it would seem, given the high cost of fuel today.
I like Dodge and GM Trucks.
I'm a bit of a classic car guy myself :yesyes: "Fill it up with ethel !" lol !

It's hard not to love these old machines. It's amazing how well they hold up as compared to the **** being manufactured today. The interiors hold up by a factor of 5 times longer than todays rides, IMO.
It would seem to me that since the electronic ignition became established, the real classic cars went :wave: Bye Bye :wave2:.
As everything became fuel injected, cars generally became a disposable item . . . off to the crusher.

sadly, US cars and trucks have been much poorer in quality than their foreign counterparts. they are getting better, but for now I have to go with toyota. I had a tacoma, loved it and never had to do more than routine maintenance. while other cars seem to give out just over 100,000 miles, i have known many people with toyotas approaching 200,000 or more that still run great!
I have a Ford , both my sons have BMWs. Taking image out of the equation, I have to say that mine is the best car of the three.It's not that German cars are particularly overrated but rather more to do with Ford's image as manufacturer of ordinary ****** cars.Not just me-I remember watching Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear comparing an early Mondeo with a BMW and Audi , saying "The Ford is easily the best of the three but that isn't what you want to hear"
I have a GM, and I'm pretty happy with it, but I wouldn't mind having the power of a Hemi if gas wasn't so expensive.
