Auto-subscribe?

As far as I can tell this hasn't been asked...

When the board went through the upgrade recently, was there some sort of 'autosubscribe' feature added?

I've notice that all of a sudden I'm subscribed to threads that I've never actually clicked on the 'subscribe' button for. I'm wondering if it is something that happens automatically after you post 'x' times in a given thread...

I'm pretty sure that it happens the first time that you post in a thread. I've always used it so the threads that I've replied to show up on my Profile page and I can easily access them. I don't get the replies emailed to me, though.

this is an option in your profile which you can turn off
