assasins creed:origins

this game comes out Oct 27th. I preordered it Friday from the local gamestop.
the cashier said there was 3 options, basic version, middle end version & the gold edition which came with a free extra mission & a subscription to the ubisoft season pass. or as it's called: Gold Edition includes game + Deluxe Edition content + Season Pass.
when I had ACIII I had to purchase the season pass to get the King Washington 3 part missions plus the other extra content and outfits & such.
my question is it cheaper/better to buy it all as one $109 or separate game, season pass, & missions/outfits?
when the guy told me $109 I debate saying Nah that's TOO expensive for a game.
Thoughts?

You didn't actually have to buy the season pass for ACIII. I bought the King Washington missions separately as they came out 1 by 1. Generally though, it is cheaper if you buy the bundles, usually by like $5.00 or more, than if you buy everything separately. Sometimes, the company may add something that is exclusive to the season pass or deluxe edition but it's pretty rare. Depending on the game, I will buy the bundle but that's because I'll endup buying the extra stuff anyway. This year I bought the deluxe edition of Destiny 2 ($100) which included the 2 upcoming expansion dlcs and early access to some weapons and emotes, I bought the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition ($100) because I knew I was going to buy the 9 extra fighters anyway, it came with 3 free premier skins and that sweet looking steelbook and I bought the Mass Effect: Andromeda deluxe edition ($70) which had some extra armor, weapons, a pet for my ship and a free soundtrack download. It just depends on what's in it and if that holds the value for you.

yeah i remember the King washington missions, i think i just had to DL them since i had the season pass but i can't remember. i had so much fun with that game.

i usually don't buy deluxe edition, i just need the DLC as it comes out. didn't get season pass or such for Fallout 4 i just downloaded the DLC as they were released. if i needed to i just added to my wallet to have necessary funds.

love the signature pic- she's the best

I was really interested in fighting with an evil Washington, but I went with the Collectors Ed for ACIII with the flag, buckle, artbook & statue. I always found the physical stuff worth the money because if anything they will increase in value, while digital stuff will only decrease.
There is a collectors Ed for origins with all the physical stuff, but I think it's like $800 or something.

And lo and behold, both the season pass and "ultimate" digital editions for AC3 went on sale a year or so later (like <$20) so I got to play the Washington missions really cheap. I would assume the season pass/DLC will eventually go on sale like every ubi game, so unless you really want to finish everything as soon as it comes out (in which case the pass would be better), I would wait. Plus, you don't even know if you'll like the game, so you don't risk buying DLC that you'll never play by waiting.

And yes, Bliss is 5 feet of fury. You need to update your sig with her current look :) That 3rd one still looks too "face" for me.

I've been playing ACO basically non stop since I got it in any spare time I have. I havn't made it far in the main quest though because I keep getting distracted by all the exploring and side quests. I'm hoping by the time I've finished the game Ubisoft progressed the main story a little since they havn't much since AC3 in my opinion. What does everyone think of ACO so far?

i've been playing a few days this week. same results as you i am doing the side quests or just walking around looking at the amazing scenery/graphics. with CoD WWII released yesterday i'm now in a bind wanting to play 2 different games. but i am fully digging AC.
i spent way too much time in the beginning part exploring the tomb type area. before you break thru the wall to help your friend vs the soldiers.

Is this on PC too or only consoles?

I've heard this is the first Assassin's Creed in a long time that doesn't suck. Has anybody played it yet to confirm that's the case? I still don't see me getting this before it's on sale in any case or maybe ever.

Given the last two were Unity Syndicate (and those chronicles if you really count them), the bar wasn't too high. Ironic that the PS3 Black Flag & Rogue were better than the "next gen" games.

For me the last good Assassin's Creed, and maybe the only good one, was the second one. I found 3 to only be alright and the rest of them not worth it. You could tell Ubisoft had a property that they knew was potentially good at some point and because of that just couldn't resist driving it into the ground to milk it for all it was worth.

I've just started this game, but I've liked most of the Assassin's Creed games. I have them all because it's one of my favorite action series, but the only ones I wasn't too crazy about were Revelations and Unity. Revelations, probably mostly due to Ezio burnout and really wanting to continue the series with new assassins but also I hated that tower defense minigame. Unity because Arno Dorian just wasn't a good character and the story wasn't great, the bugs didn't help but the setting wasn't bad though. The funny thing is that I played Rogue before Unity, which storywise you should, and that was a miles better game than Unity. I'm hoping Origins is on par with AC II and Black Flag because those are my absolute favorites of the entire series.

Edit: Really, there's a pornstar named The Assassin?

The series still is good, I just think Ubisoft needs to wrap there story up and come up with an end game plan. As the modern day story hasn't been that great since AC3

I've been playing it for the last two days and love it. The setting is awesome and visuals are gorgeous. I'm spending almost as much time in the game's photo mode taking snap shots.

I'm really liking the rpg aspect and don't get me started on the eagle. My only complaint so far is the combat mechanics are kind of clunky, in particular, locking onto and switching targets.

Love this game.

I'm just going to leave these here:

Those aren't stills from cut scenes. I took those during gameplay using the photo mode. I'm pausing and taking photos as much as I'm playing.

Good Lord, this is a beautiful game. And takes awesome screenshots.

I poured most of my early ability points to get animal taming and it's paid off.

I am ... the Beast Master.

"Hey, baby." I don't think she's impressed.
