I read something here, and I guess I have to nitpick.
The program was called "Pânico na TV", it began as a spin-off of a radio show from a radio called "Jovem Pan". The name of the radio can more or less be translated as "Pan-young", and the TV show is obviously a pun - Panic in the TV.
The show was total crap, the only thing worth watching were girls with enourmous bikinis, that they called Paniquetes - again, another pun, a reference to Chacrete (the dancers from a 1960s-1990s TV show, hosted by the genius Chacrinha) and sounding like Pani - cats.
The show moved from one TV station to other (Band) and now it's called "Pânico na Band".
