The first stanza was used in Nazi Germany (followed by The Horst-Wessel-Lied), thats why we dont use it anymore...

The Germans are a fine and decent people.
I especially love how they let applicants "try again" on wrong answers for the citizenship test. A true open door policy that other countries should one day emulate.

I got 33 out of 33.

I got about 3 or 4 wrong 'cause I don't know the name of the name of the constitution and flag colors ... things like that. Otherwise all the other ones were either easy or could be quickly done by process of elimination.

Thanks for being honest. I was just surprised that it seemed like many people, even non-Germans were getting all 33 right. I just took the test and didn't try any questions again. Like you said, the name of the constitution and the flag colors were tough ones that I missed.

Yep if you went back and fixed them till you got it right that don't count lol.My 27 out of 33 was legit.

No. First try of course! Im German and like I said, the test is way to easy. Ridiculous! The older one from Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg was better (tougher), but too many, even Germans, (politicians, journalists, etc) thought it was too tough and almost hostile to foreigners or something
But then I dont want to know how they call the Australian test!
