Never could get into that shit. 1 of the movies was ok though.

I like Star Trek. I watched all series, all movies. Great SF in general. Like older people, i tend to prefer older serie but i can't say that 2nd generation isnt good as i watch it with pleasure.

The only Star Trek I've watched is the original 60's tv series. It was great! Any time the Enterprise was struck by an object and the crew braced for impact, there was someone on the set that didn't get the memo to move around and pretend they'd just been struck, or just did it at an off time. The result was 99% of the people on stage moving and pretending to be shaken from an impact, and the one guy just standing there like nothing was happening.

Star Trek is Great but I love all SciFi!

Space. The final frontier. is the best intro of any series that i ever watched.

I like Star Trek very much. I can salute people in Spock style. :) Whole sci-fi universe is fantastic, i think. Star Trek has a special place in my heart.

I never was much of a Star Trek fan, though I did watch a few episodes of Next Generation. But recently, as every episode is available for watching on the CBS website, I've really been enjoying watching the original series for the first time. It's been made fun of so much, it's great to go back and see all the stuff that started all the parody.

Makes me appreciate Shatner, Nimoy, the crew, and "Galaxy Quest" even more.

I like Star Trek, but not to the point of being an obsessed Trekkie. The closest convention I've gotten to with Star Trek stuff is Dragon Con. Though I did get quite drunk in Quark's bar in Las Vegas...so drunk they shut down the ride and all the actors were in the bar making fun of me. :1orglaugh

If you are able to do the Vulcan salute, you are a Star Trek geek!

I'm able to do it...

I can do the Vulcan salute, but I'm more of a Tolkien geek than a Trekkie. Actually, if you think about it, the Vulcan salute is the first part of the Shocker. :hatsoff:

Star Trek [The Original].
Deep Space Nine.
Voyager.

These are the only ones I like. The rest suck donkey balls.

Have to admit I'm quite intrigued by the direction their taking it in.

I was highly skeptical when I heard they were going to ditch the traditional "reverse spin-off" model and carve out a brand new saga without the backing of a TV series. But I gotta say, the cast is amazing...

Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) as Spock
John Cho (Harold from Harold & Kumar) as Sulu
Simon Pegg (Shaun from Shaun of the Dead) as Scotty
Karl Urban (LOTR/Bourne Supremacy/many others) as McCoy
Eric Bana (Black Hawk Down/Hulk/Troy) as the villain
Winona Ryder as the love interest for Kirk (at least, that's what I'm assuming)

The huge question mark will be casting a virtual unknown like Chris Pine as Kirk. The movie will succeed or fail on his performance. Its a very similar move to casting Brandon Routh for Superman Returns... he'll either be the young rising star of the franchise's rebirth, or the main reason it crashed and burned.

I think Ryder plays Spock's mom. Why have Chekov in this? He joined the Enterprise crew later. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how they do this. I already read a bunch of spoilers but I won't list them here. ;)

Aha... I was thrown off by the human name for Ryder's character, but that makes perfect sense for Spock's mom. I thought she might be a little old to play opposite Pine (37 years old vs. 28 years old), but then again, a little thing like age never stopped Kirk ;)

As far as Chekhov goes, the actor playing him is only 19, while the rest of the cast is in their late-20's/early-30's, so I'm guessing they've got a role for him other than being part of the regular crew. From what I've read, they scrapped the "Star Fleet Academy" storyline for a "first real mission" storyline, so maybe he's playing a cadet while they're all newly commissioned officers.

um dude, this is a porn forum, there are fans of star trek, star wars, comic books, d&D, and all that shit all over this forum.

I'm not a huge follower, only seen the movies, the (first 3 from the 90s era, and the first 2 from the 'original series' era), i just hope that the new movie is good (with abrams at the direction helm tho, it should definitely be badass as shit)
