Archbishop of Canterbury : UK should welcome Sharia

om3ga

It's good to be the king...
First overseas Premiership games...now this....

April's Fools Day going to have a hard time topping this month...:D

Seriously though: Dr Williams has the right to make his opinions public. But in trying to be well-meaning, all the Archbishop has done is generate (predictable) fury in the British tabloid press and instigate animosity against muslims residing in the UK.

My :2 cents: - if I lived & worked in a Middle East country which applied its Sharia law on all its residents, regardless of the faith, I would observe that law. Therefore I'd expect the United Kingdom, as a Christian nation, to maintain a set of laws reflecting Christian beliefs & values for all its citizens.

completely fucked up

there are some trying to do this in Dearborn Michigan, how can a country based on law(seperation between church and state) as in western countries......do this? All it takes is some local leader (in some parts of the world these are usually religious) to decide something is not allowable or permited, reguardless of rights. The framers of the constitution were really bright people. To consider being anywhere U.K., continental Europe, or the U.S. and having our "Leaders" admit that some of our new countrymen will not assimilate, so we need to be more to their liking just seems weak
