Anyone using the new IE7?

Just wondered if anyone else was using the new IE7 thingie (technical aren't I? LOL)?

I've having a number of problems with the damn thing! It's slower, my emails are getting bounced, it won't let me send certain messages, it won't let me quote on certain sites *tears out hair*

Anyone else having problems? LOL

In all honesty, I wish I would have waiting longer :( It's a nightmare!

im using it. no complaints for me. just something new to get used to. i almost always use firefox though.

From your experience it sounds like it's a perfectly working Microsoft product. :jester:.

I'm using that and firefox, but it's clear whoever wrote the software for this board, only tried it on I.E. The formatting is off and the sounds are gone with Firefox although it seems it responds faster. So there are some features of each that I like.

LOL yeah, pretty much so. It won't even let me log into my blog sometimes, tells me it's restricted, then next time, it'll let me log in! *gah*

Thanks for the links, I might try firefox.

I upgraded to IE7 and now I regret it. It is noticeable slower with some websites hardly wanting to download at all. I got some malware yesterday. Nothing serious, but I pride myself on never getting those types of things and it happened right after I got IE7. I'm not happy with it. I started using Firefox today for these very reasons.

To each his own for sure, but i'm having no issues as you describe with IE7. It's a much better upgrade than to the previous version.

You may have to change a couple of settings for allowing active content in order to "quote" on certain sites....as one example.
I specifically wouldn't know how a browser would limit emails coming and going, but you're the one with the issue, so i can't comment on that.

As far as speed goes, my experience has been either the same or faster. I regularly check on a website how quickly i can load a certain page, and i consistently get 3 megs, which is what I had before.

It might just be the way it downloads things and constructs the pages then. I still have dial up so sometimes the order it downloads things and if it waits until it has everything until it shows the page matters a lot. With a high-speed connection it might not mean that that much.

uhg. someone i knew got coned into that ie7 mess. it ran so fucking slow and you couldnt even uninstall it. i ended up having to reformat everything for them. looked like they are trying to imitate their biggest threat, mozilla.

id try mozilla (firefox) for any curious entities. (while its still good) though i know they security will be breached more and more as its popularity arises.

IE7 worked fine for me.
It shows some problems if you have not updated it with add-ons.
But whatever you do, the tabs dont open as smoothly as in Firefox/mozilla.
Firefox is the best.

IE7 is a rip off of firefox, it lacks flashgot, downthemall, g translate and fasterfox but it works great for me and far better than IE6.

where can i find this "fasterfox"?

i am using firefox 2.0 and the only thing wrong with it, is the theme i want isnt compatible with 2.0 yet.

I've been thinking about downloading the new IE7. I don't know if I will now after hearing everyone's problems with it. I've heard so many good things about Firefox that I decided to try it. I have to say I like Firefox 2.0 a lot! It's faster and just seems to run so much more smoothly than IE. to Firefox 2.0.
