Anyone still have a magazine subscription?

Was waiting in the doctor's office today, and paged through half a dozen magazines. Was amazed at how many ads they have now, are there any worth subscribing to now? I would hope Nat Geo would still be kind of interesting, but my docs to cheap to have that one.

The Internet hasn't been kind to the world of print.

To help out the state Special Olympics I have Bike and Backpacker subscriptions. From a telemarketer five years ago and the SO receives $5 for each subscription every year I re-up. .

Pretty sure though this is not SO only fundraising source.

I only have one, because it came with my membership to the NRA, but it does have a fair amount of ad's. My wife has a subscription to "Glamor"...but I've never looked to see what the content to advertisement ratio is. It's a pretty thick magazine, so I would guess at least two thirds are ad's. I used to get Nat. Geo. What a great publication. My Aunt used to get it it, and orded dozens of hard cover books, which I now own. Some are 30 or 40 years old, and have never been read.

Truly breath taking scenery here in the Midwest. Can't figure out why we don't have a larger tourist crowd.

Do you spring for Nat Geo, or do you leave things like Midwest Living? That last one is awful 2/3rds ads the rest is recipes, and sight seeing in the Midwest.

Nat Geo ,People , US, SI, Road and Track.. are some of the ones I remember. There may be others now, I haven't even looked in a while.

What's a magazine? I thought guns had magazines where the bullets go. Why would I subscribe to that?

I get Scuba Diving magazine. I got certified a few years ago and got a discount subscription. As I was activating in online I kept getting messages saying "Click here for an additional year for only $5." I clicked it as many times as it came up. I think I subscribed for about 6 years.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I get American Rifleman.

Same here. Still a good read when I have the time to sit down for awhile. I also get a magazine subscription that came with the car I just bought - pretty expensive way to get a magazine subscription, eh? And I used to get Stocks & Commodities magazine but I never had the time to read it either, so I let it run out last year. What I usually do now is just buy an issue of Motor Trend, Car & Driver or Road & Track when they feature a car that interests me - and then I forget to read the articles. I still have some mags from 2011 and 2012 that I keep saying I'm going to get around to. One uh these days... One uh these days...

What I've thought about doing is subscribing to some magazines on my iPad. But again, I wouldn't have time to actually read most of them, so why waste the money? :dunno:

I used to subscribe to a wrestling magazine between December 1997 and when it folded last summer. I liked the reviews and editorial style of the writers. Thankfully the editor does put a lot of stuff online now but I do miss the magazine.

you should subscribe to "how to grow testicles digest"

Humour.... it's a tricky concept.

There are quite a few of us who have subscriptions at the job. So there are a bunch of magazines in the break room to read.
