Anyone know anything about cars?

I remembering watching the Today Show and test driving a Tesla Roadster a few years ago. It looked pretty cool but it didnt have alot of range back then.

We need to get off the oil tit bad

Agreed

I only half-assed researched this, but it seems it will take a lot of things happening simultaneously to make this happen. Make the cars affordable for one. Tesla's are about $100k right now....not many can shell out that kind of coin for a car, let alone one that has a 200 mile range. Increase the range of the batteries, make the batteries so they re-charge back to full power quickly, and the building of commercial "charging" stations where one can get re-charged while on the road.

If people can go into a dealership, and spend the same amount of money on an electric car, and know they can get service while on a road trip....people might buy them. :2 cents:

what's drivable for Americans isn't necessarily drivable for me though! the UK has totally different roads, and something tailored for US roads doesn't usually work here.

i'd rather have the Lotus it's based on, with a proper petrol engine.

plus they drive on the wrong side of the road.

What's wrong with walking? Hatas gonna hate.

30k is more of my price range. I can't remember where I saw it but the debut of the more affordable car was going to be around 30k.
