I've personally been a fan for many years, and I'm looking to get into more zombie novels, rather than just movies.
I think that it's because of my interest in post apocalyptic fiction, that combined with my interest in horror and gore, has made me a zombie fan. I like stories about the collapse of civilization in general, and it just gets better if the survivors then have to battle against hordes of flesh eating corpses.
So tell me what you like and why. Feel free to give some recommendations for whatever your favorite zombie fiction may be.
