Anyone else do this with a new album? (CD?)

I just got Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell 3 and there is a song on there I liked so much (Cry For Me) that I played about 10 times in a row until I had it memorized.

I tend to do this whenever I get a new album. (Yes, I'm old and still call them albums...deal with it!!! :1orglaugh ) There is usually one or two songs that I really take a liking to and just listen to that song over and over.

Anyone else? What song have you been repeating lately?

Oh yeah, do that a lot. Most recently was to Eighteen Visions' song "Victim" and Saliva's song "Ladies and Gentlemen".

repeating? i of the mourning on the smashing pumpkins machina album. i love the utilizing of the china cymbal in the drums.

When i first get an album, i listen to the whole thing all the way through WITHOUT looking at the track listing, that way i have no idea what song i liked.

Then i go through it again a while later. Then again.

Then finally i look at the track listing and go through them randomly, sometimes playing ones more than the other.

This way i like the album as a whole, instead of just a few tracks.

I've been playing the whole Daughtry album over and over again since November. There are a couple songs that I do repeat more than others.

"It's Not Over"
"Crashed"
"What I Want"
"Breakdown"
"There And Back Again"

I do the same thing too Dave and Fox. I always listen to a CD all the way through once. But it never fails that on the second listen I'll get 'stuck' on a song that I enjoy so much I want to play it till I know it down pat. And even on subsequent listens I'll repeat that one (or two) several times.

I got the latest Goo Goo Dolls CD for Christmas (Let Love In) and whenever I put it in I end up listening to Better Days at least 3-4 times in a row.

Usually when I buy an album, I already know a couple of songs on it, so I tend to listen to those first. I also enjoy listening to the songs while reading the lyrics at the same time. That way I can better understand what the songs are about.

Genius Loves Company/Ray Charles Fantastic album, sadly his last.

Wore out "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" and "You Don't Know Me."

I always play the album completely through. If I like it a lot I start trying to memorize the whole thing. I've almost completely memorized Pink Floyd's entire catalog from Dark Side on by heart.

I usually listen from beginning to end first time through.
Then as I hear it again I might stop and listen to one or two a couple times through just to make sure I'm getting it.

So you ask me what I want this year
And I'll try to make it kind of clear

My hometown boys the Goos :) (Buffalo NY, and my elipsusgurl went to the same school as Johnny Rzeznik, one year apart in your strange American grade system)

I had a feeling you might be a fan! ;)

I wish everyone was loved tonight
And somehow stop this endless fight
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

This might sound a strange one, but I recently heard the song 'Melissa' by the Allman brothers (Top Gear theme tune) and
I couldn't stop playing it.
It's a 7+ min instrumental, but just sounds great.

I tend to buy Cd's about once or twice a year.... I prefer listening to the Radio when Im travelling in my car. When Im busy at home doing stuff, I usually have Sky News on in the background.

When I do listen to CD's, its usually only as background noise.... I suffer from severe Tinitus. (ringing in the inner ear)

Sorry to hear about that.
I've heard that you can get anti-tinnitus headphones, that produce negative sound waves (or something!)

I definately do that...
right now it is "Spirit In The Night" by Bruce Springsteen. awesome track. not bad album, i am currently working my way through his whole back catalogue (in between porn searches, of course:computer:

When I first got Springsteen's Born in the USA album, I'm on Fire got multiple repeat plays.

I usually listen to the whole album while reading the liner notes then a second time paying more attention to the lyrics.
