When I was enrolled in Kindergarden in Ann Arbor, Mi. in 1960 I was a minority
(I'm caucasian) the were 5 white kids and 20 black kids. Everybody got along just fine.
That's because we had parents who cared. The "projects" were 3 blocks away and one of
the 1st constructed after WW2.
They were clean, drug free. 1960 remember. and filled with people who only wanted
a better lot in life. Most moved on, as did I.
I moved to a nicer neighborhood in 4th grade. Still go back to see the hood every time I can.
Now it's a Unv. Mich. Student getto. Ziggermans Deli and the Farmer's Market rule (1/2 block away)
