If rep is not important then why does freeones give out so much of it?
I joined another board a few weeks ago that uses a rep system that "looks" identical to the one used here i.e. including the "Thanks for adding reputation to this user. May you be lucky enough to receive the same Reputation back in return." However I have not found a single member with more than 2000 rep points.
Also, AFA in my opinion is/was one of the best posters at freeones. AFA has made over 20,000 posts yet his rep power is 3941. I have made less than 400 posts and I have 29589 rep power. This seems a little odd to me. I don't get the need for millions and billions of something that apparently has no value. :dunno:

When I first started posting just under 2 years ago I remember rep going up ever so slowly like it is now, I'm sure in the last year or so the values shot up so each rep was like 1000s rather than 100s. That AFA you speak of hasn't posted in nearly 2 years so when he got his rep that was in the old system where rep went up very slowly, you've probably gotten rep in the past year where values were high which explains why you have a lot more than him and also how so many noobs who stated in the last year are already at the cap or close to it compared to long serving members who haven't posted for a while or don't post as much of late.
^ TY Mr U. I understand that. I'm just curious to know why the rep system was changed when it seemed to be fine as it was back in the day when AFA was a regular poster. I'm pretty sure it must have been changed at least twice.
I also noticed a guy who joined the board in June of this year and he hit the rep limit within 4 months. That seems odd to me. Who needs billions of rep? :dunno:
