Another New Feature! Adding Photo for a Background!

Today we're ready to release yet another new feature to further customize your profile! You're now able to create a photo album for the purpose of making a background for your profile!

Here's how you can do it!

1.) Go to Profile --> Pictures and Albums (under networking in your control panel) --> Add Album.

2.) Add a Title for your Album and a description if you wish.

3.) Click the album you just created and then click upload photo. Add a caption for your photo if you wish.

4.) Once you've uploaded your photos, click the image you would like as a background and copy/paste the URL.

5.) Click profile --> Customize profile (under your profile in your control panel) --> Paste the URL of the photo you would like as a background into whichever area you would like it to show up in.



Here are the rules regarding this feature:

• You may upload 10 pictures, each of a maximum of 300kb.
• Each picture that you upload must be approved by a moderator, this can take some time. Please do not flood the board with threads about photos not being approved ASAP.
• Each picture that you upload must follow the Premium Link Upgrade regarding pictures allowed to be posted on the board and copyright rules. Failure to do so may result in infractions which could get you a temporary or permanent banning, if the violations persist.

I finally found a use for that picture! (You have to go to statistics to see it clearly, though)

You should allow the text boxes to be transparrant so that you could see the pictures behind the text. Right now its kind of stupid since you can only see half a pictue at the top of the profile and every other picture is covered by the text boxes.

That´s not a good idea, the text will get lost in the background (if you want bad examples of this you just have to look at the horrendous way background pictures are being used by many on myspace). A lot of people can´t seem to understand that if you absolutely have to use a picture as a background it should be of very low contrast so it doesn´t interfere with the text.

all you need to do is change the text color to a color you can see. not a big deal. if not then this is a pretty lame feature since this one for example all you can see is the eyes.

or they dont have to be totaly transparent. they could make them so they let a certin percent of the pic in like window tint. 20% lets only 20% of sun through the window.

as it is it is really stupid.

Is there a way to see other members' albums?

The background option is too awkward imo. Since we can't enlarge the image, it is too small to fill the page in its entirety. Instead the picture is displayed twelve or more times which looks kind of irritating.
