Americans' trust in the mass market media continues to sink

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Whether it's from a left wing or right wing source, Americans no longer trust what the talking (or writing) heads in the media tell us - and it's gone from bad to worse for the media over the past few years. At least for the people, that tells me that there is a glimmer of hope. Not everyone is willing to be in the great herd of sheeple.

Will the media **** up or will they continue to spin things in such an obvious fashion that those with an IQ higher than a dim light bulb will just continue to  them?

This is from September, but there is a more recent Gallup poll that I can't link right now.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans' trust and confidence in the mass media "to report the news fully, accurately and fairly" has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with 32% saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media. This is down eight percentage points from last year.

I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of the posters here about this. And remember, this is NOT (just) a right wing or left wing issue. It's an American issue.
