Alien existence is pretty likely in millions of interstellar bodies orbiting millions of stars in millions of galaxies in masses of clusters. But I don't think we'll ever experience any contact with life outside of Earth.

The time scale for interstellar travel is just too vast ; the universe has so many bodies in it that the probability of anyone choosing here even if they overcame the time problem is infinitessimally small , you couldn't even see Earth from most stars.
If they really had landed we wouldn't be in any doubt about it either.
