Republicans complained that the vote used a serious subject — economic recovery — to score points with voters five weeks before the balloting in which all 435 House seats, 37 Senate seats and the Democratic majority are on the line. If the government wants to get serious about bringing manufacturing back to this country, then it will need to implement import taxes on any foreign-made product in an amount equal to the costs imposed on domestic manufacturers for complying with mandatory regulations like OSHA, EPA, Workers Comp, Unemployment Insurance, Social Security and Medicare.

Until that happens, government will continue to give foreign made goods a huge price advantage in our markets which will continue to bankrupt domestic manufacturers costing millions more American jobs.

It's time to do away with the election year political stunts and enact some serious measures that will actually make a difference.

Repealing NAFTA would be a good step to take as well. Bringing jobs back to the United States despite the short-term cost and giving China the finger would be the next logical moves. Unfortunately at this late hour what real impact will it have?

Everybody is thinking short term, it's how we got where we are now and it's what we are still doing. Nobody is doing anything to take down china. If we don't knock china down a notch then they'll do a Hitler; attempt global control.
They cannot be allowed to succeed. We are currently poorly placed to stop them.
