I will say this, they want to be separate and apart from us. Please, while I do follow the jist of this in that they are at poverty level etc. It is a horrible thing, but many all over this country have the same plight and don't have Casinos on their "block in the hood" to generate monies. Some cards just get played out, you know? I have seen the pictures and read enough to know "cry wolf" when I hear it. Manage better. I think at this point in time its not through our fault. It the beginning yes, now no. They aren't in prison camps. They are where they choose to be. They can move and do better or take down the barriers themselves and blend.

As I said I won't apologize for what was done back then. I think what happened was wrong, just like having slaves. I also think Virginians being forced to apologize for the actions of their forefathers was wrong. Come on, like it was their fault what happened. Like I said, I just feel we need to move on and not dwell on the mistakes of the past.

I too am I going to keep my mouth shut for the most part, but lets just say hundreds of years of mistreatment and the feelings that its caused don't go away overnight.

This really broke my heart. I don't want to insult anyone, but for years we have heard about the mistreatment of blacks, and racism against blacks, civil rights for blacks and on and on and on. But what about the American Indians? When do they get their rights? Why isn't there more of an outcry or even awareness of the plight of these people?

The Natives Tribes are treated much worse. They deserve better.
But no one cares. That should change. Would a petition work?

We hear all the time about religious freedom in America and that's part of what makes our country so great. Why is it then that American Indians are the only people that need a federal permit to practice their beliefs???

If their land is considered sovereign land then they should not need any permits.

I could look into it if I had the time. However my point is, when you use less than credible sources to back your argument, you actually have the opposite effect. An organization that is not respected by it's peers (or others for that matter), publishes non-peer reviewed (I wonder why) papers online (since they stopped printing their journal in '02), and was born of anti-semitism is hardly a good sourse on the holocaust. Now I know this is a "porn board," and lets face it, plenty of people won't critically take sources into account...but I'm not one of them. I always look into the source in evaluating the data presented. Let's face it, the IHR is hardly credible, and sans a credible source, let's face it, it's probably not worth sharing...because it's really not worth that much.

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY considers the IHR to be credible. As far as getting back on topic, that is a toughie too...considering you did bump a thread that was dead for four years until you resurrected it the other day (for whatever reason).:1orglaugh I suspect most of the people who were participating in this tiny little thread are long gone by now. Ha ha ha.

But seriously, heed my advice about using credible sources...that is if you want you and your argument to be taken seriously anyway. And for the record, not that it matters, I'm not Jewish...it just happens that one of my greatest gifts is the ability to think critically. I've just noticed that, in my time on here, that you do have a tendency to use less than credible sources to support your arguments, and I offer my advice as constructive criticsm...and nothing more.:hatsoff:

pretty much the same for the natives in every country the greedy poms colonized (i can say that, coz i'm an ancestor, lol!) the main culprits are USA, Canada, Australia, and my country, New Zealand. all the indigenous peoples been shafted with broken treaties, then pounded with advanced weaponry; and nowdays all just retaining shattered lives.

but when they get back some reparations, all be it a measly percentage of what they originally owned, it's cool when they profit and grow back their cultures with their own schools, etc.

personaly, i'd like to see them have complete control over their lands and resources without our interference. but i don't think the elites are mature enough to allow that, yet.

As to the Indians, I didn't do it.

One of my favorite stories about working at Binion's Horseshoe back in 1996 is about a drunken Mescalero Indian. I was patrolling the casino floor when I got a call from surveillance to get up to the slot area in the front of the east side of the casino for an unknown disturbance. I met up with my supervisor, Art, and saw the aforementioned Injun pissing into the coin tray of a slot machine. I had the cuffs on him in a couple seconds and was walking him back to the security office when Art turns to me and says, "Hey, Spud. Why don't you go to the men's room and see if he put any five dollar tokens in a urinal?"

That kills me every time I think about it.
