AA seems to be getting back to the GND type of girl, Riley, Lila and Kayliegh being good examples though for me Marissa was the ultimate 'natural' girl next door. Good to see, the glamour angle was a bit overdone

Their doesn't seem to be many good roleplayers lately, though Makalie was an exception and way way back Primm was superb.

I have to agree with both these statements.

Furthermore, I think that Amateur Allure's niche has been not only "Thomas"'s camera ability, that is his ability to self-shoot while producing well-framed shots, but also his down-right stunning lighting and still photography talents. This niche, though, works best for the site when the female talent is seemingly without any prior porn baggage because then "Thomas" can "star"-treatment without any potential previous stardom.

As for "role playing," I think that until porn takes itself more seriously again, very few performers will act well.

Your point about lighting is spot on. Two examples illustrate it:- firstly all too many girls never seem to look as good as they do on their AA shoot. Secondly, when Ray first started standing in for Thomas the standard of his lighting was poor - the first Gerri shoot was pretty dire. He has however improved his lighting enormously, for example, his Miley shoot was much better lit and photographed.

The other main difference with AA is that they don't treat the girls like shit as so many sites do.
