Duvall resigns from Assembly after taped sex talk surfaces

Last Modified: Wednesday, Sep. 9, 2009 - 1:57 pm
Republican Assemblyman Mike Duvall resigned from office today after revelations that he described lewd details of two sexual affairs at a televised committee hearing.

The resignation came after Assembly Speaker Karen Bass today stripped Duvall, R-Yorba Linda, of his spot as vice-chair of the Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee following reports of a long-term affair he has carried on with a female utility company lobbyist.

Duvall, who is married, was caught on tape at an Assembly Appropriations Committee relating lurid details about the affair.

Duvall describes his mistress' "eye-patch underwear," boasts about the 18-year age difference between the two and shares dicey details about their sex life.

"So, I am getting into spanking her. Yeah, I like it. I like spanking her. She goes, 'I know you like spanking me.' I said, 'Yeah! Because you're such a bad girl!" he says in the recording

Ugh there is a time and place for for this talk and when there is a TV crew around I would say not the time or place. Well the guy got what he deserves.

The only difference between politicians and the adult industry is we are honest about our perversions as opposed to prosecuting people for things that they do behind closed doors!!!:thefinger

So, she is a lobbiest for a utility company...and he sits on a seat which can in turn do that company favors? Me thinks he might be looking at some time for this, too. We know that lobbies pass money for favors...I wonder how many other pass off sex for political favors?

Really? What time and place is there to talk about repeatedly cheating on your wife to a colleague when you're supposed to be a staunch, family values conservative?

Jeez. What a dumbass! My goodness, who the hell goes in with cameras and mics all the over the place and starts talking about his damn affairs!?!?

DUMBASS!

Someone give that guy the captain dumbass of the month award!

What a dumbass!

to name just one, would you like some more ?

Look, "let me be clear" lol ! all of you devout politician loving, government hand out recipients that can't get enough, the corruption and hypocrisy takes place on both sides of the aisle and always has ! How soon we forget.
They're all trash as far as I am concerned, I just don't want one single political party to seize the show, which could happen if we don't insist on checks and balances.

Self-righteous hypocrite. What a piece of shit....

The infamous womanizing cocktail guzzlin' (we'll stop there out of respect) political figure that was buried in Arlington (of all places) just last week you're talking about ?

When Demos start holding themselves out as the party with the market cornered on "family values" and run around criticizing others for lack of them....then there is a practical comparison on the issue of morality. But that's not the case.

Pretty silly trying to criticize someone as a hypocrite on morality when they've never held themselves out to be a standard bearer on the issue....Like Stormy Daniels for example.

Striving for high moral fortitude and behavior is commendable and worthwhile. However, turning morality into a political issue along the lines of which party is and which party isn't is what leaves the party who claims to be open for criticisms of hypocrisy when they demonstrate time and time again they're no less fallible than anyone else.

Democratic politicians have tended to steer clear of value judgments on personal failings or behavior and haven't erected public facades of their own by claiming to be holier than thou.

When republicans run around criticizing personal behavior of others and lamenting the excellence of their own all the while with their hands up the skirts of their secretaries or running their hands under the restroom stalls of other men...they're going to be correspondingly criticized by observers as hypocrites. As they should be IMO.

Well put, sir.

I don't think Teddy Kennedy ever claimed any high moral ground which the GOP likes to do. I don't know who this congressman is (I'd like to see pics of this lobbyist--does she have big cans and a nice ass? I assume so if she likes getting spanked) but if I bother to go read about him, will I find a lot of "christian coalition" or speeches about family values, etc.?

This issue, again, points out that we, as a nation, need to get serious about banning all forms of lobbying in our politics....:crash: I feel/sound like a broken record writing that statement...I think I've written it 1000 times in various threads.

Sorry "born again Constitutionistas" but we need to attach a new amendment. This is a no brainer, bipartisan issue...:dunno:

It gets better...maybe CRI needs better score keepers...:dunno::1orglaugh

The Capitol Resource Institute, a conservative, self-described "pro-family" advocacy organization that had given Duvall a "100%" score for his voting record on issues of concern to the group, denounced the lawmaker in a statement today.

"It is always disappointing when a champion of traditional values does not practice the same in his private life," said Karen England, executive director of CRI. "And this appears to be the case with Assemblyman Duvall."

Holy Shit I don't believe I missed this!
You mean a guy cheated on his wife?
In California?
No fucking way!

Next who knows, maybe we will someday have a President who cheats on his wife.
Maybe even in the White house.
But I doubt that will ever happen.

The name of the lobbyist mentioned in the news link doesn't correspond to a hottie with big cans and a nice ass....I guess we'll have to wait for the bar pics or the pool pics of these two to surface, not that I care to see Mike Duvall in a swimsuit. Let's see if TMZ digs up some juicy photos...

It's comical that this douchbag politician is a braggard about sex. I mean he should be kissing the ground every day that he is getting laid. I have to think this lobbyist pretty much holds her nose everytime she sees Duvall strip down to his tighty whiteys eh??

Yep just some married guy in California cheated on his wife....yep....that merits news coverage.
