Age Racism

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
A thing of wonder the early E-types brakes .... as long as you weren't in a hurry to STOP!

Stopping and shifting into 1st gear could be a tad bit tricky, I am told. :D

Everyone says that Japanese cars are rise bags.

It's not racist.

Dude, please. First, not "everyone" uses that terminology. And yes, it is quite racist/xenophobic - as would be referring to a German car as a kraut mobile or a Mexican made car as a taco mobile. At a NOPI show I went to years ago, a White dude referred to a Subaru WRX/STI as a "ricer" - the kid beside the car was Asian (Japanese, I assume). He made it quite clear that he didn't care for that term. When the kid's pals started walking over, I figured it was time for me to walk faster, so I wouldn't have to be called as a witness to any dumb shit.

Yes, it is wrong to offend the feelings of the Japanese.

They have always reacted so sensitively to other cultures.

So you justify your own racism by pointing out the long ago racism of the group you're talking about? Hmm... interesting strategy. I got an idea... let's go string up Maleonetwo. That damn German, Hitler lovin', kraut car drivin' sumbeach! I owe him a good ass whoopin' for what his people did at Pearl Harbor!

And Red XXX, up there. Let's not forget about her. Sittin' over there lookin' all cute & innocent. Her people burned down the White House a few hundred years ago. Run over there and plant a big, sloppy kiss on her, Assari. That'll teach her!

Course, then I gotta talk about myself because some of my ancestors fought in the Indian wars... and uh, the land I live on was once occupied by the Cherokees. So, I think it best to not try to justify being a racist or xenophobe. To point a finger just means there are three more pointing back at you.

BTW, maybe that kid was Filipino. Do we have a gripe with them?

It may not be wise to use that word, but in my opinion it is not racist saying because it does not refer to humans.

Japanese car plates are thin, they will rust and they are like paper.

Age racism... is that even logical on any level??

Earlier in the thread we established that the Finnish single word for "age discrimination" is formed by adding a prefix to their word for racism, so it literally becomes like saying ageracism. asshat has continued to use this direct translation despite numerous attempts to tell him "in English, we don't do that" but it's like speaking to a wall.

Heh. Wall.

It means that I do not let young people speak in certain situations and if they do not respect a person who knows things better than they then I have to say a couple of the selected word.

In general we can say that young people lack good manners.

As someone that rides a Harley, and drives a gas guzzling Chevy pick up...I see no reason to NOT use the term "rice burner"...even though my wife is on her second Honda Accord, and honestly, this one is a sporty little car. It's a inanimate object, and not a reference to a person. The car, or bike, can't feel bad for being called names....parts sites call them "metric" bikes.

Considering the extreme quality that goes into German vehicles, it would be unrealistic to refer to them in a derogatory manner.

As far as the Jags, and their brakes. Who uses brakes?!?! :D American vehicles were made to go straight, and very fast. We were into drag racing, the Europeans were into the road racing. We didn't to stop quick, take a corner, and accelerate again, we just needed to hammer the throttle, and make it to the next street light, without the cops catching us. Plus, drums are better for heavy weight, that's why trucks still use them. American cars always have been heavy, compared to most other countries products.
