The political threads of late have grown quite tiresome and tedious, in my opinion. I love politics, but the political threads are sucking the life and amusement out of things here. People bitching, fighting, citing websites and out-of-context quotes, and arguing ad nauseum... It's just too much for the thresholds of the board members' patience, I think, and I (amongst many here with whom I've talked) will be quite happy when the American election is over and people start getting back to living their lives and STOP trying to inculcate each other and indoctrinate one another. People are turning away from the board, and that's NOT what we want! There have been several threads about this topic -- people are unhappy or bored or frustrated by the incessant fighting and arguing.
I read the political threads here and I either agree or disagree with things said, but I won't generally involve myself in them because they often revert to puerile name-calling and insults, mudslinging, and out-and-out flaming (but I suppose that's the nature of politics, sadly). I, and most others, don't have the time or energy for all of the propaganda (from both sides of the fence) being posted; I'll do my own fact-finding and I'll cast my own vote. These threads should perhaps be PMs...just a thought.
Vigorous debate and discussion are healthy things, but here they've seemed to seriously divide, deter, and distract people from the very focus and purpose of this board: porn, erotica, comedy, and current events discussed in ways which DON'T incite people to self-serving sermons and pseudo-political diatribes imbued by sound bites and buzzwords.
There IS a light over the horizon. Once the election is over, we'll be able to get back to doing what we do best here on this board -- discussing babes and porn and current events in ways which are not hateful, mean, ill-spirited, and divisive...
I very much look forward to a "post-election" FreeOnes. The sun will rise again!
