Hi everyone

Last saturday, when I was at the train station Chatelet, I and another guy have seen a guy bleeding from the nose and his girlfriend has a big slap mark. I started to speak French but they answered me in American English that a group of three arab teenagers asked them if they had the time. I have seen who were the responsible of this but they were already far away and escaped, so it was not possible to catch them. The guy answered them no and got beaten just because he answered no and his girlfriend got slapped. I and another guy accompanied them to the nearest police precinct and told the French policemen what happened.
This kind of event is just sadening and infuriating. Slapping a girl how weakminded it is:mad::ak47: So here is an advice of my experience when I had encountered some trashbags like this in the past,it is to fix them with a severe glance but do not respond to them with words and move on, also walk your own way and do not pay attention to who is sitting in front of you in the metro/rer, in France it can be considerated as an attack. If someone touches you punch them also, do not take the rer/meto too late, it is usually the time when the scum goes out.
Never go out for a walk on the following railway stations after 11-11.30pm: chatelet, la defense, st denis, la courneuve, aulnay sous bois, drancy, bondy, mantes la jolie, les mureaux, ecouen, poissy, barbes and pigalle.
Those places are filled with scum and slime.

hope this helps

'Asking The Time' is normally followed by an assault or attempted mugging, it's simply said to grab your attention (stop you walking) or to get you to reveal your mobile phone, i'd caution the link to ethnicity as anyone could get involved in this gang culture, any 'white' kids living on the predominantly arab/black estates may well act the same way, there just aint as many of them. I've had this done to me in the UK by both white and black youths but in shitty areas. When travelling to any foreign country, be wary of people asking you for the time or a cigarette or other seemingly odd questions, they are just trying to prey on unsuspecting foreign tourists. Everyone has a phone nowadays so no one should be asking you the time, bear that in mind.

Best just to avoid them at all costs. It can be hard if they approach, but do your best to keep your distance, or at the very least don't get into a situation where it's just you and them. :2 cents:

This can be considered by those trashbags as an agressive behaviour and may lead you to an argue or even more...
The best way to deal with the mis probably to ignore them, just walk your way without paying attention to them.

And remember, always "CELEBRATE DIVERSITY" no matter if the other guys want to displace or kill your guilty white ass or not! For self preservation is just that . . . selfish! :nono:

Also don't go to Notre Dame Cathedral after midnight there is some dude up in the belltower with a hunchedback and he crys out the word "sanctuary, sanctuary"!

Fuck the French...:)

Lol funny thing is im going to Paris next week i doubt anything will happen, when you've lived in essex long enough you know that completely ignoring them gives them no reason to do anything, and for some reason the typical scum that would try to mug you will stay away from the 6"2 bloke coming towards them.

Best advice, stay away from any groups, they never act alone.

So does this mean I should cancel my plans to visit France? I was really looking forward to it too. I was going to go to the train stations and slap some random girls and then beat up some French Arab kids. Sounds like it wouldn't be safe for me to do that. :(

I guess I'll just go to South Central L.A. and do a few drive-bys.

georges that was you?

sounds like a random assault but very likely his american accent provoked it.
on the bright side he was lucky that he didn't get stabbed.

As a foreigner currently living abroad I am always aware of whats around me, especially at night and in quiet areas.
each night when i walk home from exercising i do carry a phillip head screwdriver in my front pocket, but nothings ever happened.

just gotta be careful in basically almost every city nowadays.

hey georges, your written english is very very good.
a little off with your present perfect usage, stick with simple past when in doubt.
but i wonder, how is your accent? strong accent or so so?

Is somewhere outhere.
I think Paris is just like any of the other big cities in the world. If you stay
street wise like you do at home, then you should not have a problem
anywhere.

For these people it was a case of both the wrong place and the wrong
time.....Shit happens. But at least they will have learned a lesson ;)

Shady people approach you and want to kick your ass.

Pull out knife.
Cut your hand.
Start screaming I have AIDS and point bleeding hand at them.
Watch as they don't know what to make of the situation and start to flee.

Saw it in a movie with that ginger kid from Jurassic Park.
