Why would a police officer need handcuffs restrain a 6 year old? They could just put the kid over his shoulder and that would have been sufficient restraint.

Or just throw a pillow case over her. problem solved

Handcuffs on a little girl? That's ridiculous. Handcuffs are for adults.

She would have very easily fit in a pet carrier.

The parents don't give a shit. That's a problem. When the parents do not even bother showing up for meetings on the situation, it's not something that is going to be resolved.

There is really not much the school district can do but have the daughter evaluated if the parents aren't even going to make the meetings. It's clear she has no self control and does not respond until physically restrained after 30+ minutes of no control.

She was running riot and that is not a civilized way of behaving be it at home or at school. Age is not the issue here imo the behaviour pattern is the issue if you ask me. How were they to "subdue her" without handcuffing her, she would have just went on and on and on and on like she did before the handcuffing, if they'd tried it another way. That handcuffing act brought it into line. She obviously couldn't be controlled and in that alone she should not be allowed to continue her riot act!. Other kids safety need thought about and the staff as well!. A kid OF ANY AGE should not be allowed to perform uncontrollable tantrums at school and get away with it.
