UK fishing blow: Plans put on hold after bizarre warning about FAIRIES
The application to build the Organic Sea Harvest salmon farm was turned down by Highland Council. It followed a letter by a group called the Friends of the Eilean Fhlòdaigearraidh Faeries.
There were also objections from fishing groups and local residents.
The bizarre letter was signed “on behalf of the Flodigarry Fairies”.
It warned about the “ashrai”, an aquatic fairy in folklore similar to a mermaid, which they say have been living in the waters for 1,000 years.
The letter claimed that the fairies only come up to the surface once every century.
