Not only did she expose this child to something illegal and wrong (sex with children IS wrong, no matter how medal worthy you may seem to think it is)...she also exposed this child to STD's becasue lets face it, they don't make condoms for 5 year olds.
I agree that sex shouldn't be as taboo as it is...I mean I'm a camgirl for a living and find it hard for that to be accepted by my friends and family...but sex with children should NEVER be applauded. we know and it seems plainly obvious that people who commit sexual misconduct, substance addiction, and many violent offenders have psychological disorders. they don't think or feel rationally, if they did then they wouldn't commit the acts that they do.
these people need to be isolated from society so that they can't harm themselves and others and to receive medical treatment. that should be the sole imperative of the justice system. individuals who exhibit a low safety concern should be rehabilitated to the best of their abilities and released on the contingent of pursuing an out-patient treatment program until they can demonstrate the ability to function normally in society. Those that are too dangerous to be released should remain in custody and receive treatment until they exhibit the previous categorization and then follow those steps.

This has nothing to do with being "all politically correct" (which, as I've said before, and I'll say again, is an incredibly overused and abused phrase, and is now frequently used as a cheap way to be obnoxious without anyone challenging you - the phrase has all but lost what little meaning it might have once had). A 5-year-old can't be expected, in any reasonable sense, to "consent" to sex. For fully-grown adults to engage in sexual activities with kids, or even want to, is a sign of some sort of mental/psychological dysfunction. Something is misfiring in a serious way.
This has nothing at all to do with "sex is taboo for no real reason" - we're talking about adults sexually assaulting children. And there are plenty of reasons why that is taboo.

In any event, a kid who DOES that is obviously interested in it, so consent becomes less of an issue, unless an adult has purposely shown them the stuff or not taken some effort to make it harder to access. Remember, we're talking about a 5-year old being videotaped with an adult woman. By any definition, it's a long way off from a (probably significantly older) kid seeking out and finding camgirls, porn, etc. I'll tell you, I saw my first porn mag when I was like 10 or 11, and I gotta say, I found it rather disturbing. I've still yet to pinpoint WHY I did. I think it just felt too early (it was a fairly hardcore mag - something like Puritan or Private). And I saw that mag because another kid showed it to me. Fine, neither is mine. No one can stay sane and react in such a way. I feel bad (in a certain, abstract way - not directly) for this kid, but I won't let myself lose sleep over it. For one thing, I couldn't have prevented it, and for another, this is hardly some kind of new crime, breaking an old moral boundary. But I think being able to at least acknowledge that something's f'd up, and NOT turning completely cold about it (while also not obsessing about the punishment of the wrongdoer) is something people should try to do. Maybe especially liberals, as we're so often characterized as amoral or even immoral because of our attachment to reason and rationality. Nope, not at all. But what you wrote was unclear, and for a while there you seemed dismissive of this thing as no big deal. I disagreed with that, so I said so. I don't think I've "whined" about anything. Actually, if anything irked me it was your lame use of the "politically correct" put-down. Too often people use that phrase to just coast to some easy victory in an argument/heated discussion. It's almost like cheating in my opinion, and when people try that, it motivates me so I might not let the discussion end or fade where I might otherwise if the "pc"-bomb wasn't used....

Murderers get 20-25 years nowadays. Rapists even more. You'd think that she "raped" the kid.
