Most of those names are not ridiculous in the slightest, majority are actually pretty good :2 cents:

"And you will know us by the trail of dead" is a fucking bad ass name! Probably one of the best.

If you're going to pick a band name that doesn't mean ****, there's an unspoken rule it should at least sound cool (Soundgarden, etc). Matchbox 20 manages a triple play of mediocrity: It's incomprehensible, it's boring and it's not even very original, given how many other generic bands showed up at the same time as matchbox with "word-number" combos (Blink-182, Sum 41, 13 Engines, Seven Mary Three, etc.)

I once saw a band called Eye&I, which was not only a bad name, but a bad band. The lead singer even said that she wished she was back in New York, auditioning for another band.

Some people think John Cougar Concentration Camp is a bad name, but I've always been amused by it.
