They just gave George Kontos a three game suspension for hitting Andrew McCutcheon. Bruce Bochy received a game suspension.

I wonder what Ian Kennedy will get? Probably six games (though with a pitcher it should be two starts)

kennedy got ten games, ouch, but its mostly cause the pitch he hit greinke with was up and near the head

Max Scherzer goes for win number 13 tonight, as the under-achieving and bankroll-busting Bengals look to straighten their recent pitching woes. Right now it's 6-0. If I were Al Pacino, I'd sell the team back to Monaghan.

If Matt Holliday goes on the DL, expect to see the Cardinals bring up Brock Peterson from AAA Memphis. Dude is raking down there....leads the PCL in homers and would be a nice power bat coming off the bench to replace Adams (who will be starting and playing first base while Craig moves to take Holliday's spot in LF). Also, Carlos Martinez is going to see some innings here before the all-star break so check him out if you get a chance. *** has been throwing smoke for Memphis this year and is a future ace for the Redbirds.

Just watched this an hour ago.

Bump. A-Rod ready to return from Scranton? Is DJ done? "Uhm... Robbie, there's something you ought to know before you go up to the plate..."

Well it's nice to see the Mets are back to true professional form!

... All the hype that Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez, and Ron Darling have been saying recently about Jeremy Hefner. How he's pitching so well in his starts....

Phillies lead 4-0 after one inning.
Phillies lead 11-0 after three innings.
Phillies lead 13-4 after five innings.

Should I go on? :( How terrible can you be?

Fuck it. Who cares? I think they made the last payment to "Someone". What a fucking host the Mets were! Hey, who wants to bet on Mets at .500?

The Royals still suck but man I have to admit Greg Holland is looking like the next Mariano Rivera at the moment.

Red Sox Dustin Pedroia gets a 7-year, $100million contract. I love @LaserShow15, but that is a long time to be paying him. He will go down for a much of a year soon.

Figures the Yankees might get Soriano again. Watch them make the playoffs despite all the injuries because they can afford any player they want. The rich just get richer.

I really do not see Soriano as helping the Yankees become richer. I see it as a team that is continually paying way too much for former all stars and continually watching those old players get hurt.

Not this year, the Red Sox, Rays and Orioles are too good. 2 of them will take the playoffs spots.

3 players for the Mets with 5 or more stolen bases for the year? Um, David Wright is one of them. What the fuck is with that? They are bringing up **** that are brave enough to make the catches on the field but once they get a base they are statues.

Why do teams even pitch to Miguel Cabrera, I mean seriously? Dude hits on command.

Hey the Giants finally beat Clayton Kershaw tonight in Los Angeles of all places. Yay, Madison Bumgarner!!! Giants 4, Dodgers 2. The magic number for the Dodgers to clinch the NL West is down to four games because the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks in Phoenix, 7-5.

The Giants crushed Ricky Nolasco (going into the games with an 8-1 record with Dodgers, 13-9 overall) and the Dodgers tonight, 19-3. Nolasco pitched 1 and 1/3 innings giving up seven hits, seven runs, five earned. He's now 8-2, 13-10 overall.

Tim Lincecum (10-13) pitched very well. He pitched 6 innings, gave up five hits, three earned runs, and had six strikeouts. Hunter Pence had a career-best seven RBIs in a game with a grand slam and Brandon Belt also notched a career high by driving in six going 5 for 6 as the Giants set a record for the most runs scored by one team ever at Dodger Stadium.

Tomorrow the Giants go for the series win. :)

Magic number for the Dodgers remains at four games.

Hunter Pence does it again. He hits two homers, knocks in three. For the go-ahead run, Brett Pill homers in the eighth inning with a two strike count on him. Then Sergio Romo shuts the door on the Dodgers in the ninth for his 35th save. After giving up two hits and intentionally walking Adrian Gonzalez to load the bases. He induces pinch hitter Yasiel Puig on the first pitch to ground out to Brandon Crawford to Joaquin Arias ******* Gonzalez out at second for the third out. Final score Giants 4, Dodgers 3.

No NL Western Division celebration for the Dodgers against their old rivals. The Giants prevent that. :)

With the Arizona Diamondbacks winning again over the Colorado Rockies, 8-2. The magic number for the Dodgers remains at four games.

As a Red Sox fan, I keep an eye on the Yankees roster. After this season, it is looking a little scary. Cano will probably head west, Jeter can barely walk, A-Rod will likely be gone for most of it. The free agent market looks sparse. there is talent, but is there enough to compete in the division? I don't think so.
