Well, I don't want to jinx anything, but our schedule is pretty favorable

Yeah, although @ MSU, @ Illinois and @ Iowa is a pretty challenging stretch. Fortunately you've got two bye weeks (one including a game against Purdue :D) after the MSU game to prep for the other two. I've got a gut feeling you're going to lose to Nebraska. I hope that feeling is wrong.

as for the yeller fellers at lsu...they got their hands full with a bunch from florida with blood in the eyes..

I'll be really surprised if Florida beats LSU.

In other games this week I'm looking for Tennessee to nip Georgia, Iowa to edge Penn State, Navy to beat Southern Miss, Arizona over Oregon State, UCLA over WSU, and Texas AM to roll Texas Tech.

I went 15-3 this past week. Anybody better? :dunno: Anyone???

Here are this week's top 25 picks. Seems like a broken record but there are some terrific matchups again this week. My compliments to the NCAA schedule makers because there have already been some classic games this year and we're not even halfway through the season.

Here you go....get 'em in by Thursday.

Iowa St. at Baylor
Texas A&M at Texas Tech
Florida St. at Wake Forest
Arizona St. at Utah
Miami (FL) at Virginia Tech
Missouri at Kansas St.
Illinois at Indiana
Kentucky at South Carolina
Florida at LSU
Connecticut at West Virginia
Auburn at Arkansas
Ohio St. at Nebraska
Maryland at Georgia Tech
Michigan at Northwestern
Oklahoma vs. Texas (at Dallas, TX)
California at Oregon
Boston College at Clemson
Colorado at Stanford
Kansas at Oklahoma St.
Boise St. at Fresno St.
Vanderbilt at Alabama

My Top 10, cuz I can

1 - Alabama (LSU has played good teams, but the beatdown in the swamp IMO is more impressive than any of them)
2 - Louisiana State (I can't help but feel someone is gonna trip them up along the way)
3 - Oklahoma (Not sold on them)
4 - Wisconsin (Should run away with the Big Ten title)
5 - Boise State (As I said last year, as good as anyone in the entire country. But simply don't deserve to be higher. The schedule is more atrocious than last year. Doesn't help that TCU, Nevada and San Diego State aren't nearly as good as last year.)
6 - Oklahoma State (Great looking team, but that defense)
7 - Stanford (Great team, but hasn't played anyone)
8 - Clemson (Three toughest games on schedule now outta the way. At Ga Tech is the best chance at a loss til the ACC title game. Dark horse candidate for the NC game)
9 - Oregon (Have a loss, but it came against LSU, so no biggie)
10 - Texas (Not particularly impressive, but I can't think of anyone else to stick here, maybe Arkansas, Michigan, Arizona State or Illinois)

I went 15-3 this past week. Anybody better? :dunno: Anyone???

Let's just rename this segment "Jagger kicks everyone's ass"

Iowa St. at Baylor (Too bad BU lost to KSU, otherwise RG3 would be the Heisman front runner)
Texas A&M at Texas Tech (TTU undefeated, but unimpressive)
Florida St. at Wake Forest (FSU 2-2, but I still feel they are a very good team. Both their losses looking better and better)
Arizona St. at Utah (If ASU wins, they will already be in a commanding position for the Pac-10 South title)
Miami (FL) at Virginia Tech (I can't get a read on Miami. Typical mediocre, inconsistent ACC team)
Missouri at Kansas St. (Another team with 2 good losses)
Illinois at Indiana (I still can't believe they beat ASU)
Kentucky at South Carolina (Battle of inept QBs)
Florida at LSU (Sadly, no chance for UF without Brantley)
Connecticut at West Virginia (UConn sucks these days)
Auburn at Arkansas (Not sure why)
Ohio St. at Nebraska (Chance for the Buckeyes to put up some points for a change against a crappy ass defense)
Maryland at Georgia Tech (Ga Tech should hammer UMD. But this is the ACC, so you never know)
Michigan at Northwestern (Very easily could be UM's first loss)
Oklahoma vs. Texas (I'm not as high as others on OU. But I'm not as high on UT either.)
California at Oregon (There are only 2 situations Oregon can lose in the Pac-12. At Stanford, and At Arizona State. Period. And only one of them is scheduled.)
Boston College at Clemson (BC's coach is a very good defensive coordinator. But a crappy head coach.)
Colorado at Stanford (When the hell is SU gonna actually play someone?)
Kansas at Oklahoma St. (Okie State might put up 80)
Boise St. at Fresno St. (Boise should win the rest of their games by 30 points)
Vanderbilt at Alabama (I remember back in the day when Alabama sucked and this was a fun little rivalry. Then the SEC changed its scheduling practices and Nick Saban came to town.)

My Top 10, cuz I can

2 - Louisiana State (I can't help but feel someone is gonna trip them up along the way)

i think so as well...early yet..but i seen holes in lsu IMO they are overrated..miss st gave them all they wanted...19 6 is not a blowout..we will know more about lsu after saturday

You know... I actually agree with you.

If you never watched LSU and just looked at the box score, it would be pretty hard not to say their the best in the country. But I've watched LSU quite a bit and I'm just not totally sold (especially J. Lee). I'd like to see what they do once they face a team with a great D.

My top 10:

1. Alabama (They look like an NFL team)
2. Oklahoma (The most balanced team in college football)
3. LSU (Can beat you in multiple ways)
4. Oklahoma St (best offense in college football, but no defense)
5. Wisconsin (They just played their first game of the season, but I never liked Nebraska)
6. Boise State (the same story for the past 4 or 5 years.)
7. Stanford (Luck is the best QB prospect since John Elway)
8. Clemson (They are the real deal. Hands down the best team in the ACC)
9. Oregon (One of the most underrated teams in the nation. Had bad luck against LSU)
10. Arkansas (Probably should have lost to A&M)

*Texas not in my top 10 because they haven't played anyone.

For the record, my statement above was in the regular season... Bama SHOULD win every game by talent and coaching alone except for LSU, who's defense is very, very good. Yes, the Iron Bowl is always a wild card as are all rivalry games (see last years' blowing of a 24-0 lead), but after watching Bama dominate UF, a team that has as much raw talent as anyone, I just don't see anyone being favored to beat them until a bowl... doesn't that mean Bama will win out? Who knows, anything can happen... :dunno:

smoknn....dude...you're my main SEC emotional barometer but I gotta tell you this quote thing is really not that tough, pal. Just follow the template I corrected from your post and you can do it too....even if you are from Alabama :1orglaugh (just jacking with you dude!! luv ya man! :D)

Do it this way:

POST YOUR BAMA OR SEC SMACK HERE

*Texas not in my top 10 because they haven't played anyone.

Not surprising you won't give us any cred, Will....that's OK. (Ass still burning over the fabulously successful Longhorn Network? ;). I totally understand OU's penis envy ala Texas A&M for UT :D but, to your comment, we're sure playing someone this Saturday, wouldn't you agree? Corny dog, anyone? :dunno:

LOL... Envy? You think OU fans are envious of some stupid Longhorn network? I can turn on a TV and watch OU anytime I want (thanks Fox sports:thumbsup:). We're relevant just about every year, so we don't need to make a network to make sure we're on TV.

The only Envy will be Saturday from Texas fans seeing Boomer Scooner running onto the field every 5 minutes. ;)

Sorry C/S...that's just not enough. If anything has been proven true of 'Bama the last few is they are as big an enemy of themselves as who they may play on any given Saturday.

Their running game is murderous as they're like a guy with a 12" inch pole...the question isn't of prowess. It comes down to whether they can get it up every time.

Sorry for the crude analogy smoknn but that's about what it is.:o

I'm not sure Saturday will be a true test for LSU to be honest. My Gators will have an unproven QB, and it will be our first true road test (Lexington hardly counts). The defense looked good the first 4 games, but against Alabama's elite athletes we were exposed. And LSU is the one other team who has athletes comparable to Alabama. And Florida is not Kentucky or Tennessee. Everyone and their brother knows we're talented, so there is no way LSU underestimates us the same way they tend to underestimate other opponents. They'll be ready. I just can't see LSU not winning comfortably. Hope I'm dead wrong though.

I won't disagree that their biggest enemy is themselves. One fact you are overlooking though is that Alabama has lost 5 games in 3+ years in the SEC, and has the most wins of any team in a 3 year stretch ever. They have talent and are well coached, and when they do play up to their potential, they can beat any team any day. I think the LSU game will have a lot to say about who might be playing for the NC. If OU continues to roll, and Whisky as well, two of those 4 teams will have a good shot at winning it all.

No one can win all the time, the college football landscape just doesn't allow it these days with scholarship reductions and al of the other changes that have been made to even out the playing field.:2 cents:

Me either.

Dude....I was :jk:. The Longhorn Network is a $300 million boondoggle and there is little question from anyone that OU is heavily favored and more than likely to win this Saturday. Just having a little fun.

I agree..no one will EVER win ALL the time. Of the games 'Bama has lost they were their own worst enemy in mailing it in it seemed at times. One of those loses you speak of occurred against Utah (maybe not in this 3 year stretch). Though Utah had a capable team there is no way they should have beaten 'Bama (that team). That was an example of them mailing a game in.

It's hard to get up for every single game especially when you play in a tougher conference. But it is something you have to do and I think sometimes 'Bama rests on notion that they will be credited for a tough schedule and may not show up every weekend.

Losing a mere 5 games in 3 years is commendable no question. But there are other teams in the midst of 'dynasties' (if we're prepared to call this era's 'Bama one at this point) who I believe have done better. SC had 2 loses in a 3 year stretch...:dunno:

Oh, I wasn't offended at all. I know you better than that. Just trying to get a little trash talk in before the shootout.

But there does seem to be a notion that OU wanted to leaved the Big-12 because they were threatened by Texas and their Longhorn network. That couldn't be further from the truth. OU just wants to be in a stable conference.

True, and that was a great run by USC without a doubt, but I hate to bring out the SEC love, but the PAC 10 back then was certainly no SEC, and they didn't have a title game either. :2 cents:

Tend to agree.

I suppose we could say that regarding any of the Miami runs too.
