Taylor Mays is staying, him and Myron Rolle will be in the 2010 draft. I think the best position class this year is the DLine. Sen'Derrick Marks (Auburn), Tyson Jackson (LSU), Fili Moala (USC), Greg Middleton (Indiana), Brian Orakpo (Texas), Michael Johnson (Georgia Tech), and George Selvie (USF) among others, will be available this year.

Lol, the news broke right after I posted that yesterday, I was so pissed. Now that Mays isn't available for my Broncos, I hope we go for a RB(Knowshawn Marino or Chris Wells) in the first round, then defensive players throughout the rest of the draft.

i think Denver should pick defense early and often and get a good runner late like they have done many times before.

Man, I hope the 9ers get Colt Mckoy next year. In fact, if they do, I will mail each and every poster here $10 because that is how happy I'll be.

And then I'll fap.

My friend...don't these teams WANT TO WIN? The Vikings are going nowhere with Tavaris. He's done. If Detroit doesn't take a QB first, they probably won't win again next year. Carson is injured AGAIN and the Bungles need to start thinking about life without Carson. Not saying that they WILL take a QB, but it's better to act judiciously rather than in panic fashion. What if he can't throw the ball anymore? Tampa has 3 QBs which means they have no QBs. Same with the Niners. They have to find a #1. KC will find a new QB. Now that Bradford is staying...Sanchez is coming out. Sanchez and Stafford are Matt Ryan-esque. They will be going in the first round. Rod Marinelli was "allegedly" a Defensive Coach...how stout was that Lion D? They MUST go with a QB or the fanbase should burn their tix and boycott the team.

Sanchez and Stafford are NOT worth the first overall pick. Now, if Detroit can get one of them with Dallas' pick then I'd be all for it.

They may not be but can Detroit afford to roll the dice and hope that some other team doesn't make a deal for either of them ahead of the Lions pics?

Lots of Top5 pics turn out to be busts...neither Stafford or Sanchez is Ryan Leaf...

They can definitely afford to roll the dice. Offense was not their problem this year. Defense was. A rookie QB isn't going to stop the other team.

Besides, they will obviously be shit this year and have their choice of Mckoy, Tebow, Bradford and whoever else declares next year. Next year is the year to draft a QB.

Unless I'm mistaken my friend...you gotta score points to win games and Offense puts asses in the seats. The Lions can't afford to go into another season with shit for QB. They signed Duante Culpepper to play this past season--he basically has a wooden leg!

exactly with out an o-line most qb's will become david carr, great potential buried in an avalanche of sacks. many teams say they want to win but do not improve their chances hence the raiders for the last 6 years. you don't have to draft a qb first to win, tom brady anyone, but you do have to surround him with talent so he can succeed.

The Lions have two first round picks this draft.

They should take the best O-lineman with the #1 pick and then draft either Sanchez (since they are saying he is declaring) or Stafford with the 2nd first round pick, trade up if they have to.

I don't hear too many people heaping praise on that Patriot OLine. Is everyone convinced that Patriot Oline is made up of 1st Rd draft pics? I only can think of 1--Logan Mankins--and he was the last pick in the first round the year he was drafted--if memory serves.

Would anyone draft Robert Gallery or D'Brickashaw Ferguson as Top 5 picks again?

Nobody markets OLinemen. Noboby pays to watch them play. Harsh but true.

Everything starts with the QB.

With the news about Bradford, don't expect Stafford to automatically declare. He weighs two options:
1) Stay at Georgia and go for the NC, or
2) Declare because his stock is higher with Bradford out of the picture.

Next year's QB crop is crowded...Tebow, McCoy, Bradford (most likely), SuperJimmy Clausen, Jake Locker, whoever plays for Stanford, maybe Mitch Mustain of USC...maybe Ryan Perriloux--Mr. Kicked out of LSU reclaimation project....
