Im with you on that, I hate to think that they probably will disapoint once again this year. But they do have a good shot, the line up looks pretty stacked. Hopefully Pat Burell will have a decent year, he seems to have one once every 3 years so maybe its this year. On paper they have one of the best starting rotations in the National League. they do need some bullpen help, but hopefully they can unload Jon Leiber before the season and get a good set up guy. Christ for us Philly folks, who would have ever thought looking back a couple years that the Phillies would be our best bet for a championship?
It's all because of money. They figure they could get a bigger fan base and more revenues with that name plain and simple. It sounds like something some out of control monster with a soul of a corporate executive, a mind of a finance lawyer, and the character of a head of a marketing firm would come up with. You would think some people would have more shame, but we are essentially talking about an American business here.

thats a big part of it. but before moreno bought the angels i read an interview with him. he said that he was interested in the dodgers because of the high hispanic fan base. his words not mine. i think its both monetary and racial.
I'm not trying to be a dick or stir any shit up but the angels at least have a world series title under their belt. To me they haven't been very jokish the last 7 or 8 years.

correction. they have only been good since may of 2002. that season they started 6-14. thats only 5 years.
you dont find it a joke because you dont live in los angeles. it would be like a hershey, pennsylvania team suddenly calling themselves pittsburgh. or a boca raton team calling themselves miami. :2 cents:
ok fine 5 years. it might not bother me. the giants and jets actually play in new jersey right now and that doesn't bug me in the least. what's it really matter? you're an indians fan right?

i have a problem with the giants and jets as well.

How much time do you think the Tigers will spend working on pitchers fielding this spring? Sheffield should help in the middle of the batting order but losing Jamie Walker from the bullpen could hurt.
That's only cause the tribe stacks their rotation so the Angels always have to face Bob Feller twice per series, home or away...

intra squad games should be under way. next month, spring training games are starting. does anybody else but me like to watch spring training games? i like them. i get to see all the prospects and up and comers. i should have been a coach.
