Just got back from one of my major out-of-town gigs. You read it right motherhumpers. 143 hours in 13 days. Obviously overtime isn't an issue for the employer on this job.

If you want to take the day to hang out and reflect on my greatness, I will find it completely understandable. In fact, I don't see how you wouldn't. :1orglaugh

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos
They obviously neglected to tell you that they don't pay overtime.
Any work you do outside normal hours is done on your own time.

 Big deal. I've done 3 90-hour weeks back-to-back before. For those keeping score at home, that's 270 hours in 21 days.

Pfft, I remained drunk for 4 solid days during midsummer celebrations in finland. Had to make sure I didn't sleep too long, else the hangover would kick in. We also managed to fit 26 persons in a mazda 323 during that stint. Now thats hard work and dedication people!

I sometimes get the feeling I've spent a lot of time drunk...

Nothing like concert season, eh?

70 hour weeks used to be pretty standard for me. I'm glad you're happy about it. I hope they paid well, and I hope you regain the use of your penis soon.

Yes, and when you have a week's worth of the Rolling Stones, it definitely makes for some long days.

I'm still trying to resuscitate my penis. :o :helpme:

Did you precede and immediarely follow these jobs with a 1,900 mile drive to get to the job? If not, then :stfu: And that's not even getting into the shitty hotel room I was stuck in.

No, but there was the 35-mile drive to and from work on days when I actually went home, coupled with sitting in Bay Area rush hour traffic for at least an hour every morning. On the nights when I didn't go home, which was more than half of the run, I got to sleep in the comfort of my passenger seat.

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
I average 100 hours a week and often come in on either Saturday or Sunday to handle detail shit, and haven't taken vacation time in over 3 years. Suck it!

What is this thread about?

People trying to prove they have the biggest dick by boasting about long work weeks.

No motherfucker, this thread is about me, my inspiring work ethic and the fact that I pull off my work week without the benefit of standing around, flexing for the 14 year olds.

My job requires attention to minute detail, strict observance of procedures, math computation without the benefit of anything besides my shriveled brain and (relevant detail) hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line. And at no point does Mick-fucking-Jagger mean a goddam thing. I spend time regularly with people that are much more important to my industry than Mick is to his. Throw in the fact that you're throwing bullshit potshots a final-table dealer for the Main Event.....why don't you tell me more about leaning against a post with your arms folded. I'm sure it's all very scintillating. :rofl2:

You all seem to have lost sight of the fact that working harder and longer is not a good thing.

A thread about slacking on the bosses time, taking sickies and being unemployed for long periods of time would be far more enjoyable to read than this nauseating celebration of the puritan work ethic.

Well baby boy, if you have such a problem with my thread, you could always follow that age-old mod rule about ignoring it and moving on............oh wait...........sorry.....I forgot where I was and who I was talking too. Nevermind. I need to remember the two sets of rules around here and which set applies to me. Let me try this again:

"Yes Massa. Whatever you say Massa."

Feel better pookie? :drama:

No ones famous last words were ever "I wish I'd worked more".

Some of us take pride in our work. Mine is very technical and error prone. And, again, serious dollars are on the line that can and do get won and lost due to mistakes. The job I was just on dictates that only the best get the hours. And I was the hour leader. And while this is the first time I won the "Ironman" award, I have been in the top 5 for hours for the last several years. The bleating of douche-bags can't bring me down. I'm proud of the work that I did and I felt like posting about it. Next time, I'll do it in the form of a poll. That should keep the rest of you happy.
