got a mate who works for xbox live here for the europe dervision have asked him about it but he dose not know nothing about it the only thing he said it could be is they are setting up the tv through live so one day soon you will be able to watch tv shows live sports event and stuff like that.

Yes!! go on the players list, which is next to friends finds someone on the list and click the gamer card then invite them to game!! it's that simple or send them a friends request.

don't give up hope, i know C&C was hard for me on the controller but they have come along way since then, try the demo for halo wars on the 360 and that works brill on a controller, still prefer mouse and keyboard but it a good start in the right direction for controller !!
