does it have a privacy setting? might be the way the firewall handles cookies, web bugs, tracking links, etc.

well it all depends.. I don't think you would have any problems using it for surfing, school/work, but gaming might not be as good, from the specs it sounds like an intergrated video card (since you didn't list a maker, like ATi or Nividia), so you might not be able to upgrade it if you want...
